Thanks for confirming Chris. I just noticed this belongs to member "jatterbu", and they're a square set in 17x9 et20. Time do investigate if they were ever offered in 16" with a width in 7"-8" range.

I have a set of Compomotive CNX wheels that are pretty huge. I need to check the specs, but I think they are 17x9 (or 9.5) and 17x 11 (or 11.5). Not sure on the offset.

After Vintage, I'll post them for sale, but my guess is they'll go to a Mustang owner.

Just curious, is there anyway a US 535is/M5 air dam can fit under a euro bumper, and are there any pics of such a configuration?

With modification, yes.

TexFest was hard on the airdam, and the Volvo was added after.

So turn signals are missing, but it looks good(in my opinion). Hmm, so that is not really an option if I need turn signals.

I stand corrected, you CAN make it fit with significant modification, but the real question is should you ... cut up a perfectly good airdam and lose a big chunk of your safety illumination? :dunno:

Turn signals are there. Look closely at the fog lamp openings.

So what you're telling me is I can do stupid things with my US air dam and re-purpose my fog lights for a euro bumper. Thanks.

Have any of you guys with rare or NLA air dams, skirts, rear valences ever thought about getting a mold made? While it may slightly take away from the rare-ness of it, it would be sweet to have them more readily available! Once I get ahold of one of the ones I'm looking at, I'd debate doing it...kind of a pay it forward thing. Depends whether or not I can find the right price with decent quality. Although, it primarily depends on whether or not I can get my hands on one that I like.

Either way, like this thread. Gave me a nice refresher.

I didn't see any pics of a Euro M5 spoiler above. Found this thread: http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=124506 with these pics:

Is that a "normal" valance or a "taxi" valance? I thought the "taxi" valance had the hole in the middle for better cooling...

Unpainted, sans fogs:

That last pic, with the painted spoiler, shows a rectangular opening right below the license plate. I don't think Paul & Joe's car with the unpainted spoiler has that, but I can tell in the pics because it's too dark.

1. Taxi valance is the valance without any of the openings. Some of them are stamped in but not cut out.
2. Real M5s came with the spoiler unpainted and frankly, it's really the only way they should come.
3. The rectangular openings line up with the openings in the valance designed for an oil cooler. I've bought spoilers and gotten them both ways. Easy to reveal the openings though.
4. These were pretty common on cars like the 528i, but they were painted body color and I think they look dumb. I have the original one for my 528i and it was zinnoberrot.

Ultra rare BreKem Taxi21 front spoiler. The only other one I have seen was in a dumpster.

Better pics of the late model Euro valance and M5 spoiler:

If I did it again, I'd be tempted to paint the spoiler body color.

I understand the sentiment- the unpainted spoiler can look a bit plain, even unfinished, to anyone who hasn't stared at them long enough (of course, it helps if your car is black...). But painted, it just looks wrong:

Image

If one wants a painted spoiler - and there's nothing wrong with that - better options exist (notwithstanding availability, etc.).
