So my interior is basically complete. There are some follow-up details that I will get to in time. Primarily this will be another round of cleaning and re-touch on the console bits. I'm not thrilled with the e-brake boot I got from Kevin Chinn - it's rather thicker leather than you want in that spot and seems to bind a bit, so I may look for another source there. And I'll get around to cutting in the rear seatbelt receptacle holders eventually. There are some issues of finish and/or pricing that I'm trying to work out with Kevin, though all of his email addresses have once again gone belly-up. He's not an easy guy to get in touch with, and I don't want to do any other cutting on these seatbacks until there is closure there.

But I *did* replace that front seatbelt receptacle, so now the buttons all look good-to-great.

Someday I may actually make time for a real photo shoot. Until that day, I'll just keep subjecting you to crappy Android pics that only sort of do the car justice... Four of the interior, with engine and an exterior shot just for good measure.

Congrats on executing such an amazing interior makeover while retaining an OEM look. If you've got something original and it looks like it could have sat on the showroom floor, you're doing it right.

I don't know how I missed this thread until now

I think it looks freaking awesome! I can hear RCBMW's blood pressure monitor going off all way from Sandy Eggo but nothing you've done is irreversible.
BTW, could we get a shot of the non-shadowline drip rail? I'm thinking of doing the same thing

I think I hear that alarm-tone an awful lot lately. Oh well.

The aluminum drip-rail adds a nice bit of highlight, though in some ways I wonder if it is not enough, or too much. It's not a very thick line of highlight, and in a lot of pictures it gets lost in the glare of the surrounding shiny black paint. I see pictures of the actual Euro cars that have full brightwork around the greenhouse and I love it. But it is apparently a non-starter to try to replace the other aluminum bits on the doors. Cars like Ron's Euro car, pic from the archives -

I love that look on a black car. I think the body-colored bumpers and and shadowline treatment is hands-down the best on car with color, think Zinno or Polaris. But on a black car from the 80's, I want some contrast. Contrast and color (not to mention cloth!) were items that were only available on a Euro-market car. BooHoo!

Anyhow - some pictures that may show the extra brightwork. Also a couple of rear-end shots where you can see the Euro Supersprint muffler poking out. Taken this weekend, this is confirmation that I have yet to install that rear Euro valance and fill up all those bumper-holes. Too much soccer this spring!

That's kind of where I am right now. Darin has a guy that does an amazing job on restoring the drip rail covers to like new condition so I'm leaning that way. But like you said, it's almost like I want go 'all the way' but changing the door window trim with something acceptable might be tough.

Hey Matt! They are 005/006's - 7" 11mm fronts and 8" 24mm rears in super-nice shape. They will be for sale some time this summer.

I've got a set of NIB OE M5 wheels ready to go (DPP, how we miss thee!!!), and with a set of OE flares winging my way, it's time to finish the bodywork and get the 'right' wheels mounted.
