Holy.. that's a nice wheel.

Chimi, I have to salute. Trusting all these knuckleheads on here is completely asinine  . I'm loving the reassemblance of the original Hartge parts. It sucks Hartge was kind of the outcast for so many years and then to see a resurgence of popularity. The cars should have been regarded like Alpinas.

Don't those macrame seat covers demand a crown style air freshener?

That pic of the front end almost looks like two pics with the white car running through it.

And don't those that want € bumpers just lust to have the mounting locations right there instead of any of all the different hacks done to mount those skinny bumpers.

Coming along great. Keep the story coming.

In the nothings easy dept; he broke down again, Nebraska this time. At least he answers the phone when I called, responds and offers text updates. I cant expect much for the price, but am still NRVS as heck.

At this point might be dropping Saturday evening or Sunday, ( and I am camping for a couple days) My Buddy lives in Nashua and can meet him at the dealership, and help get it into the lot for me

The Eagle has landed, I was away over the weekend, but came up on Monday to check it out! Man I was excited driving up.

First, found the key hidden for me, it has a Klein tools keyfob. Maybe an owner along the way was an electrician?

Now she's off on the last leg of this journey to a friends house for storage. I have to figure out how to spring this one on Mrs. Changa, and work on the drivetrain and interior parts needs.

Before it left- checked the extra Ivo windshield, and amazingly it was intact...GREAT JOB PL! Threw that in the back of the Tundra and have that in the WB Horde for now.

Also checked and verified the M5 trunk kit and battery setup/tray. Holy Canoli :wow: - every piece is there and in great shape including the cable mounting brackets and hardware - I cant thank Chris K enough for this, and George for bringing it out to LA for me. Great Stuff.

I was so happy to receive them I pulled out my best chimi-changa stylee blanket to nestle them on.

What are you going to use for engine management? Is that air valve staying or going?

Hey LJ! thanks for helping George find all the motor parts...Keeping the air-valve thingy and running the 1.0 with 011 ecu. Going on Buzzbombs recc here, and I prefer to start with the original management and keep it simple, too. I may upgrade later but I would like to see what the base system is like with this freshened dirty motor, etc.

I also found these on the popular online auction site for 80 bucks, might try them on it. Interesting extra ground, enthusiast owned perhaps.

First round of cleaning on the 260/6, still a lot of nooks and crannies to clean-

Sunday was conjugal visit day

The Seed has also been planted... Mentioned to Mrs. C that a tech/friend at work had come across a pretty cool e28 on the cheap, and I was going to check it out and help where I could.

Spent an hour or so going over a few things. Noticing a little more transport damage, and figuring out the best course of action. There was always a dent in the passenger fender ( 2 actually) and now one on the drivers side in the front.

I also removed the holy rear seat I am not using to chuck out, organized carpet and Black interior parts inside it. Balanced the motor a little better with a block of wood underneath it, added Star Tron to the fuel tank... Pulled the drivers seat, battery and trunk kit to take home, and placed a new NOAH cover on it.

That taillight mod is the one that uses the unused € fog lamp for an additional brake light. The ground is around the outside of the sockets and the inside conductors?? is that really what that crappy zinc-plated junk is? are for the power to each lamp. So already upgraded, but if you are really going to euthanize that car with the full € kit, you need to retrofit the rear fogs.

Euthanize the car? That's just a weird thing to say, guy.
He doesn't have to euro "kit" anything. It's already a euro car and original. That jumper wire just needs to be removed if Jamie uses those lights, since the harness already powers the fog socket in this car.

good that the wiring is there as it requires a wire from the front to do rear fogs on us cars
forgot this one is euro

yes weird word for a conversion but that's what I say even though it is probably the opposite, giving the car a new life and new identity. I'll just roll with it.

Small update, but important one...Clear, clean MA title came in for a 1985 528i! ( and tax free. excellent)

I'm also working on getting the car closer. It's about an hour and a half- way out of the way at the moment. Although thankful for the spot... I need this thing closer to piece meal some work on it. I have renewed a resourceful friendship locally, and he might be able to come up with not only an option for me- but also has a lot of body shop connections. And a full size Bluepoint media blasting box in his ( dirtbike) shop. Nice.

Ooo LaLa, Paper.

Wow, decent mileage, clean paper and tax free, how can it get better? Well other than all the stuff you wrote and it being on the road.

Another quick visit yesterday. Spent a couple hours doing a few things and getting ready for the carpet, and gearbox. Oh and placed an unbroken red diag cap in its proper place. Might have word on a closer location for it soon...

Current spot, and thanks for the beer tray Ahab, its already helping hold up the hood.

Then spent some time at Pete's Cycle, checking out some classic Moto's, and a nice CT70 he had there.

Pete let me borrow a media blaster, stoked to play with that on a few things.

Also, hooked up the front LBBK today, took a couple pics of those vs stock, and got a chance to check out BB's work from underneath.

Brought the spoiler up to keep with the car, looks like the Hartge bolts are not the same as the Mtech holes that are drilled already... likely just gluing it anyway, but for the moment was cool to see on the car.

Image

Taped up the manifold side, lining up the long tube headers... looks like will still have to lower subframe or raise engine to install- even with the gearbox out. Speaking of which... round three of cleaning so far:
