Did you have to drill out your door frame too even if your speakers only had a 1.65" depth? Is the grill simply mounted to your door card? Did you use a speaker baffle for the speaker to door frame?
I did not have to cut the actual door metal, there is a kind of concave area that sits close to the window frame. I did screw the speaker into the door metal to sandwich the speaker between the door card and frame. Not much space between the door card and door, but just enough.

I used to have a 15" in IB - greatness! IDQ sounds great in IB, but excursion is on the shy side.

I took the day off today to try to get my system finished up but I didn't like the way my amp rack turned out. The only thing that turned out nice was the 15" IDQ mounted IB.

For those that added speakers to their doors (Spen and Landspped), how did you run the wires from the door panel to inside the car???

Fish them through the rubber boot that contains the power window wiring. You'll probably have to pop the boot loose from the door and/or door frame to get them through.

Just curious if anyone knows the inside trunk wall width? My car is in storage and thinking of building an amp rack over the winter. Cheers
