Well, better late than never I suppose.
[Forgive me, I have been down with the flu for since Tuesday and haven't had a chance to get to my camera, download, process, upload and all that nonsense until now (the first day I'm mostly vertical).]

Anyway what can I say that already hasn't been said about last weekend four times over other than THIS get-together is the reason I love you clowns and consider you all friends (be honored as I don't have many).
Image

As always, the largest and warmest thanks to Darin and Charles for hosting and opening up their houses to the circus. Also an equal thanks to all those who worked to make things happen, usually the unsung heroes just outside the spotlight.
As Devinder said (and quoted earlier) this event is less about the cars and mostly about the people; it is the real reason most of us migrate to San Diego this time of year and keep coming back. I know I subscribe to this philosophy. It was great seeing some out-of-towners, some of whom have been here before and some new ones. Also, this weekend is a way to regroup with everyone at the beginning of the season.

Per the usual course of events, there was some this:

Some of the other:

A little of that:

And a lot of this:

Personal thanks to Charles for providing a pillow for my sleepy head and the Jay3 for coming down early to spend a little more time than usual.

Jay doesn't wander into AZ because it's too damned HOT...its Africa hot...Tarzan wouldn't put up with that kind of heat... (but seriously most of the year its too goddam hot)
That being said, I'll get ready for the Sacramento Africa hot season...

I know it’s been 15 months, but so many people helped in the search for the elusive second component of the Becker system, so I thought I should provide the answer. First, a confession, I searched online and physically for over a year without success. I chatted with the local dealer service manager and he said he’d chase Canada, US and Europe for an answer. It took him two weeks. The component was in the rear, as we suspected, but behind the CD changer there is sound dampening material. Remove that there is a panel. Remove the panel, the component is mounted on the rear side inside the fender. Sound system is awesome. Thanks to Ivo Christov for finding a replacement system.

Cool, I remember that hunt. There were far to many hands in there already and I don't know E34s so I only peeked in at the search but glad to hear you got it resolved.

I love it when people actually close a chapter like this!
Also helps if people look online for solutions to problems.

Glad we all could help and I was happy to help you out with the parts from Germany.
Best

Whew, glad you figured that out, Craig.
I was just thinking about this last week and then I replayed the whole sordid search story to someone.

I don’t think anyone could have done anymore that Saturday afternoon. I was humbled by the amount of effort the group expended!

Great to hear Craig! There were a lot of eyes in there - who knew that there was another layer to be removed?!
