You mean the one eBay ad right now? On the box, it says "special x5," which doesn't have anything to do with an X5, not to mention the fact there are no telescoping antennas these days.

That would be the one. I am still fairly new to the BMW scene, so I only saw "X5". I have been dealing with old cars for so long now that I haven't even noticed that mine is almost the only car in town with a telescoping antenna, much less a power one that works. Still, it looks like you have the potential for a good profit on your purchase.

Reading my post, that sounded harsh. I apologize. I can't say I'm an authority on these, so I'm hoping for instructions in the box. Haha.

I'm not looking for a profit. It was hard enough to come across this, so I wanted at least one spare or something. They were cheap enough.

No harm done. I have trouble putting my thoughts into text form..... I come across as an idiot much of the time. Even though you aren't looking to sell, it is nice to look at a pile of spares and know they are worth more than you paid.

That's really cool! I just put a Hirschman in mine and I don't really like the installation as opposed to the other one. What do these look like once mounted and secured? Meaning, the finished exterior look of the grommet/cap and mast?

Thanks for sharing.

That looks oddly familiar, like maybe something I had in a Bav. Is it full auto or semi auto where you have to toggle it up and down? My Bav's was the latter. Damn that was a long time ago.

Mike,

I can't say how it is setup though looking at the wiring on the old unit, it probably does have its own switch. Once the new ones show up, we will see. When I received the M535i, I had a collection of wires that were all cut.
