Hey Chris. I didn't order the shadowline headlight grills specifically - just told the guys at Blunttech I needed grills for the E24 and that is what I got. I'll likely swap them out for the chrome-trimmed grills at some point but really don't think they look bad. Perhaps a bit more aggressive than the chrome grills.

I give you that for sure. I just have always liked the non-shadowline grilles.

I couldn't tell from your updated pics but you may want to check your headlight grills to verify they're are compatible with the headlight cleaning system. The grills should have an open section at the top of the light cavity to accommodate the wiper's arm travel. If you click on the attached photo, the zoomed image will show you what to look for.

The car looks great!

I finally got my refinished 17" BBS RS wheels mounted on the car. At first I was a bit concerned about the polished lips but they do look pretty good with the chrome bumpers and I'm starting to get used to the "bling". This hennarot car isn't exactly subtle anyway. Here are some recent photos. What do you think about the wheels?

Wow. They look fantastic, Mike! Well done. RS198s were definitely the way to go.

Oh my. That is red hot!

Great job!
(I'm digging the shadowline grills for when you get rid of them...)

I think bottle caps would be a much better match. If you'd like, I would be happy to swap with you. Shoot I'd even pay shipping both ways.

The wheels compliment the car well, nicely done.

Looks great, Mike! Do you plan to add the black stripe for the front spoiler?

Hey John! Actually, I have been thinking about that. The next job is to convert the car back to the euro lights and washer system and ditch the sealed beams that are on the car now.

The stripe on the lower front spoiler would not be correct for your M635CSi and I wouldn't add it (the stripe is also not original to car photographed earlier in the thread). The lower front stripe was always and only used in conjunction with cars with the Slimline stripe and never the Dekor stripe.

I cant wait to see the car with the correct headlight wipe/wash intensive cleaning system and European spec lights.

Best,
RCBMW

More good information from rcbmw! Actually, I thought the car should have the front spoiler stripe. Now I know better.

If all goes according to plan, the headlight wiper/wash system, euro headlights and turn signals should be on the car next week. I'll update this thread with developments as they occur and really appreciate all the nice comments on the car. :D :D

That is just beautiful. I don't love bling in general, but those wheels look natuaral on that car. Like the grills too. Go Mike

Absolutely beautiful M635 Mike, congratulations! Love the color, condition, and of course your new wheels.

I have the same 198s with polished lips on my M635 and love them. I have mine wrapped in 255/40/17 all around.

Only thing I am considering doing in adding a small spacer at the rear to make those 198s look a bit more agressive.

Enjoy! Looking forward to hearing about the headlight washer system.

With the considerable help of Todd/alpinacsi (Read: Todd did the work and I handed him tools occasionally but mostly watched!), I have now finished up all the big jobs required to get the M635CSi back to the condition in which it left the factory in 12/84. Chrome-trimmed grills, proper euro front blinkers. headlights and headlight wash/wiper system installed. Here are some photos:

Mike, that car looks exquisite! I think that was a very smart move going with the normal grilles! Ties it all together so well. Well done and congratulations on such a stunning 6er!
