I seem to be pretty good at finding things. Maybe I should get some sort of "pretty good at finding things" title.
One out of 4? Or there are only 4? I'm confused. I'd search, but there's no wiki.

Clicking on a link opens it in the same window even though I have instructed Firefox to open a link in a new tab. How come?

My only qualm is the avatars on the left. Had some trouble logging into it on Tapatalk, but otherwise, fantastic!

Thanks guys!

The avatar on the left drives me nuts as well. That would be my only suggestion. To me it feels more natural to see who the post was from and then read the post.

Otherwise, I am glad we are finally on a current version of phpBB...

This is what I was going to bring up. The default on the old forum was the have all embedded links open in new windows/tabs. If it's an option on the new software, it would be far preferable.

Thanks!

I didn't like it at first, but I have to say it makes the conversation more interesting. I find myself reading the content without thinking about who is saying it.

HAH. I didn't even see that until you mentioned it... We used to have post counts but it became a "Post count pissing contest".

Anybody else want to openly admit that they don't know their left from their right?

I think that was mostly the fault of the "ranks" we used to have which changed as your post count hit certain milestones. Post count is never a good indicator of post quality though, so I never saw the need to openly display it like that. Kyle and I have similar post counts, for instance, but I'd trust his knowledge on a number of topics more than my own.

I am a right-handed guy, and on the iPad sometimes I'm touching accidentally the user info when I'm scrolling...

Anyway, the new forum engine rocks. :thanks:

To cek: The wiki was here always, it's called Tech FAQ.

WTH, had to move my chair!!!

Post by Blue Shadow »

Thanks for the upgrade Jeremy. Good job sneaking that in while we Vintaged. Got back to a screen and BAM new stuff.

As commented elsewhere, the shift from left author info to right side author, moving the message to the left side of the screen...I have to move my chair over to get the full enjoyment.

Nice work, I'm sure there is more so, thanks in advance.

Yes, lock this thread.

Interesting how no one is abandoning ship because they could not keep up like the 6er crowd when the roach changed formats without getting their blessing. We're staying.

Would be nice to have links open in a new tab automatically. Or is this possible and I haven't found it yet.

Click the link with your mouse scroll wheel or CTRL+ click will open links in a new tab.

Why would I do that when I have new tools to play with? Congratulations, you're the first victim of the "merge threads" feature.

People seem to forget that the exodus from Roachfly was due to WAY more than just a format change.

Pretty sure the new software is broken. I can't seem to use the uploader and that Tailpipe thingy is malfunctioning again, as I can't seem to make a post.

Firefox handles that automatically for us. Somehow the Firefox option is disabled in this new version of MyE28.
