No, this thread is about shaming those who lack self control and respond to spammers. The other thread is for reporting spammers.

I know. And I so want to reply and suggest an anatomical impossibility. In other words there's a new one out there.

Edit. The same lowlife has three of them out there. All in a language foreign to this forum. Not just a spammer, a dumb spammer.

Dealing with some spam issues today, I had an idea (look out now).

As you should all know, you should never respond to a spammer, much less QUOTE them. The reason is simple. When we go in to do "cleanup" and remove the spam account/post/content, having to deal with cleaning up the replies piles on additional work for us. This is all volunteer work, so reducing our workload benefits everyone.

Spam does happen, however. In light of this, here's the most effective way for you to help us deal with it. When you see what you believe to be a spam post, right click the "profile" button under that user's post, then click "Copy Link Location" (FireFox), "Copy shortcut" (Internet Explorer), "Copy link address" (Chrome), or whatever the equivalent in your browser of choice happens to be.

Paste that url into a response in this thread, hit Submit, and you're done.

If you see a spam post, click on the little triangle in the upper right with an exclamation point in it to report it. No response to the post itself is needed.

Oh man, I totally screwed that up. I lamely thought (my best method of thinking) that the first response saying it was reported would keep more folks from reporting the thread. I guess I got that completely wrong and that I have read this post, I can refrain from mentioning in a spam thread that I reported it. Oh well, maybe I can do better next time.
