New topic on old subject....hesitation but good idle
Thought after inspecting / replacing hoses, boots, thermo time switch, coolant temp switch etc etc etc that maybe this melted cover on air flow meter might be an issue . Problem for this 535i is that runs just fine during intial cold to warm period but once at full temp the dreaded hesitation/lack of fuel type symptoms arise. However, many of the post I have read seem to also have a rough idle condition which this car does not have...idles perfectly at cold and warm conditions. Just replaced both sensors on trans housing due to a read about how one works during intial cold start and the other kicks in after a certain temp....have not replaced cold start valve/thermo time switch or injectors which other posts mention about valve possibly not closing after warm etc..have ohmed the switch which looked fine. Will replace this air flow meter but would like additional comments please.
Replaced
In tank fuel pump
Coolant temp sensor
Fuel pressure reg
Boot and vac lines
Flywheel sensors x2

Replace the oxygen sensor and make sure the O2 heater relay functions properly.

Is that white wire disconnected on your AFM?

I think it is connected but will check.
