Why: I've been wanting to do the in-tank high pressure pump mod in my E28 ///M5 and a few other things in preparation for our V & RTT trip.
Plus, it's gonna be a good day for Brian to come down from College Station and bring the transformation hardware and supervise the work.
I thought, WTH, perfect time to invite anyone else interested in this upgrade.
I know these supplies are limited, so they'll go on a first come first served basis.
He should have enough to allow for at least 3 others to be done.
You are welcome to tackle whatever other job you're confident you can complete before the sun goes down.

How: Bring your own new parts and tools, if you have them, to do whatever job you plan on doing.
If used parts are needed, they just might be available.
An extra jack and/or jack stands would be nice to have on hand as well.

P.S.
A head count would help so a semblance of preparation can be made in the food department.

I'll be down to meet, greet and grub if nothing else.

Thanks for going through the process to develop this kit.
I'll need to order the fuel pumps for the two units I'll be doing.
Here are three sources I'm aware of, I'm sure there are more, but these two brands seem to have the recommendations to be worthy of the time we'll be spending.
My question is, will any of these three work with your hardware, based on the pictures.

#1 - Walbro from Summit Racing http://www.summitracing.com/parts/VPN-GSS341/ (you'll need to order the harness kit too)

Any of those three should work. I believe they are similar in overall length and have similar output tubing size. I think it has also been mentioned in other posts that pumps having any larger diameter can be tricky to insert back into the fuel tanks due to the limited size of the opening in the tank itself.

In that case, I'm going with the Tre-340 because Paul said it was good, and he is the latest BMW CCA TSA.
I like the price two, I mean two.

Good question.

I've got my jobs covered, not sure at this point who else is showing up and with what projects.

I don't have any BMW specific tools, but I might have a few things that could come in handy. Gearwrench stubby wrenches, 1/2in. impact + sockets, etc...

Throw 'em in the trunk and break 'em out if needed.

Fuel pumps ordered for the two kits I plan on doing.

Obviously this is late in the game since the "tool-a-thon" is on Saturday, but if anyone is planning to make the fuel pump mod please let me know. I apologize for the tardiness of the information and I guess it would have been good of me to post some details on the options available. At this point, there are two (see below). If you are interested pm or email me and I can answer any questions that are not addressed in the mod post.

Option 1: in-line pump delete, 8mm (5/16”) injection hose (user supplied) from tank to fuel filter

Option 2: in-line pump delete, 12mm (1/2”) injection hose (user supplied) from tank to 1/2”-5/16” fitting
