Just wondering. I've just never seen an installation on an E28 M30. I have seen photos of one installed on an E34 M30 and it was a monster.

I have yet to hear of one -- but this company ->> http://www.machschnell.com/schneller.html has an M30 supercharger kit in development (and has been for quite some time)

Well, do a "view image" and you'll see the filename! As far as I can tell, Comedy Central was the originator due to the symbol.

Aaron from Aus put a Toyota supercharger in his e28. Had mounting issues, but the theory is sound. Standard SC20 from an MR2, with custom pulleys to get boost correct.

He may have some stuff on it at his website:

Hey, Mike.

Link didnt work...here:

http://users.tpg.com.au/schrick/528i%20 ... harger.htm

I just updated it too. it wil be the final for a while.

These blowers probably wont work to well on the US 535i due to the extra displacment of the 3.5...although they are being used on Buick (Holden here) 3.8 litre V6 with good 30% power gains.

Id wreckon they would go great on a 2 or 2.3 litre M20 if not the 528e?

Here in Sweden we have one E9 3,0 CSI with a Lysholm twin screw charger. Has figured in some car magazines some years ago, and it's a real sleeper.

This is a link to a swedish company that develop kits for BMW.

Text only in swedish, but if you look a bit down on the side under:
"6" "NGRA EXEMPEL P INSTALLATIONER"
there are some pictures of installation on an Alpina engine with output of 480hp at 1,2 bar.

There are some engine designs that lend themselves better to blowers and some to turbos. In my experience, V engines tend to favor the blower while inline engines favor a turbo. And when I say favor, I mean ease of installation and am not counting any performance.

A V engine has a lot more real estate that you can work with for a bracket and an inline engine makes mounting turbo exhausts easier.

Just a generalization of course, but that's my guess why you don't see more blowers for E28s.

I still, from time to time, think about that Southern California Z8 with a Vortech supercharger, putting out 750 horsepower.

Whoa, baby!

TJN ..love the Avatar ..ROFL
The whole idea was on a budget. I used a Subaru WRX intercooler that someone upgraded from.
It sits where the battery sits, battery in the boot. That said...Rod HAdfields see link below, is using these blowers on Nissan RB30s, holden 186, Buicl V6 and other engines...with no intercooler..and the ability to switch them either on or off while driving!!! and power claims of 20% to 30% Extra.....
