Tried fitting my new design fan shroud to my new radiator .

I discovered that the upper flange is on backwards. The mounting holes for the shroud are on the wrong side.

There are 4 holes on the top flange on the engine side and none on the other side. Mine has the 4 holes on the forward side and none on the engine side.

I guess I will be drilling a couple of holes.

Is this shroud something you designed yourself, or is it from a newer BMW? I must've missed your original post on this.

It is a improved designed from Aug 87.

The old part number is 17 11 1 177 834 the new design is number 17 11 1 712 240.

The old fan shroud could be deformed and displaced from it frame. Cause: High ambient temperatures and high speeds.
