Well under much pressure from a few people I have finally got around to recapping Tedfest.
As far as I can tell from the comments of attendees at Tedfest this year it was a huge success. There are a few people that deserve honorable mentions here that played important roles in this event being a success. First off I would like to thank Bruno for putting the website together while he was on vacation in Paris,France. After countless hours and emails back and forth between Bruno,Eddie and myself we created a new web page. Lets not forget the 6 hour time difference here either. Then I would like to thank Eddie for the hours he put into designing the flyer,t-shirts,ballots,site layouts and trophy logo designs. Then we have Lou who took the bull by the horns and volluntold a bunch of friends that they were helping with the Tedfest staging of the cars. He also enlisted five new sponsors to help with the cost of running this event. Craig who footed the bill for all the pizza's on the Friday night's dinner.Bruce Kennedy for doing up the marker signs and the Tedfest 2012 and 2013 window stickers.A big Thank You to Peter Raposo from Innovative Millwork Solutions for the Porketta and Picanha he BBQ’d along with Manuela for everyone on Saturday night. The endless number of friends that went way beyond friendship to make salads and desserts for the BBQ, purchase and hand out chocolate cars at the BBQ, friends who donated prizes that they won and graciously donated to the event. This is what Tedfest is all about. People who go way out of their way to make Tedfest what it is today an event for the people by the people. You all know who you are and the Tedfest Team thanks you.
Now on to the highlights. I got up at 530 Friday morning to find Squirly sleeping in his car at the end of my driveway.
Went and picked Craig up at the airport at 7AM and ran some errands with him. The Americans started showing up around 4PM to start with the fun all the while the construction crews were still trying to clean up the street for Tedfest. They finished at 7PM 6 hours behind schedule.
