MSN,Hotmail,Live,Outlook are permanently blocked

Post by Justin_FL »

If you have an email account hosted on one of these Microsoft email domains, I'd suggest moving off them if you rely on delivery of any communication from this website. You will never get the emails...

Too many users have reported legitimate email notifications that they subscribed to from this website as spam and it is permanently black listed by Microsoft as of Dec 19th.

It is a PITA to remove MyE28 from Microsoft's black list at this time, so the ET for a fix is unknown. Whenever I get around to it, I guess.

Does this affect private messages sent through the website?

You won't get an email notification of the message, but of course it won't affect the way this website functions.

Bingo. PMs work fine, but PM notification and topic watches are bounced.

Also, the Image function will result in the messages hitting a black hole for a sender or recipient on these Microsoft email services.

To be clear, every other email service is unaffected as the site does not belong to any known black list maintained by any various spam prevention entities. This is purely their own doing and is out of my hands without jumping through major hoops and money to become a member of a certified sender program through a third party registry that will give the domain a "pass". It could also be possible they black listed complete netblocks of Rackforce IPs due to a spammer in the same range and we are merely collateral damage. But Microsoft will provide zero information, so we are at an impasse.

I'm not sure if this would work but for those not interested in changing their e-mail provider, create a gmail account and set up a rule automatically forwarding e-mails from mye28.com to your original address.

My old work (general contractor) would get blacklisted by an email provider every now and then because we would blast out bid invitations to subcontractors. It would always take a week or two for the issue to be resolved by the IT guy and it seemed like a real pain.

Gmail here with no issues.
But the forwarding answer sounds like the best solution to none Google users.

Thanks guys, you know who you are, for all you do.

Take this opportunity to get away from hotmail etc and get where the kool kids are, gmail.
I did years ago, when Gmail was still a closed beta, and haven't looked back once.

Agreed, pull your head out of your ass and get an account. You can forward your old email address to gmail. I've also used it since the closed beta its a great service.

When you enter your password to change your email, is it mye28.com password or your gmail password? Neither is currently working for me.

Thanks

You type only in the current MyE28 password and leave the second and third blank after entering the new email. Email forums AT mye28.com if you get locked out and don't get the confirmation link from the forum.

Felt generous with my time this morning and completed a huge and ridiculous dossier form to petition a plea for review. Guess I will find out of the MS email cops like us or not.

Justin,

Thank you again for helping me with my account! I really prefer the messages sent through gmail as I don't really use my hotmail account much anymore. I appreciate your time and effort to make things run smoother.

Best,
Ron

This should be resolved as of 2 days ago. I'm not seeing messages bouncing back so all should be well until people start marking the site's emails as spam/junk mail again...
