very thin, high end stereo speakers

I watch a YouTube channel from a high end restomod shop in the UK called Retropower. They do a lot of incredible work for customers with deep pockets (among other projects they've been building a series of e30 M3s with extensive carbon fiber body panels, reworked drivetrain and interior, ec.) In their latest video they mentioned a speaker they will be using in a Jaguar E-type from a company called Morel. The speakers are only 0.7" thick, which would make them ideal for the tight spots on an e28 - as we all know, trying to fit decent speakers into the door panels or kick panels can be difficult. The price of the speakers is a little eye-watering but I thought it was worth a mention here anyway...people sometimes like to spend silly money on these sorts of things. ;) https://www.morelhifi.com/?s=nano

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Yup, that morel stuff is good, recommended drivers for all kinds of installations, but these flat jobs are cool.

Yes, but not anywhere as thin as these ones.

All I'm saying is that the brand has been available through discount supply houses for quite some time. Might be worth a look if you wanted to pursue it. :dunno:

Morel is definitely a high end option. I've been installing Audiotec Fischer in a bunch of my bimmers in recent years. They're German made, and focus mostly on BMW, including a 4" which will fit in the kick panels. For more recent bimmers, they've also got custom tuned plug and play amplifiers which are a huge upgrade from factory amps. I've found several deals on "last year's model" on ebay for very reasonable prices.

Those are some thin speakers!
They even make a slim subwoofer.

I wonder how they perform (at reasonable volume levels) compared to a "regular" depth speaker?
