Hello, I have no idea how much to ask for this entire set, therefore sound opinions or offers will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Please feel free to analyze well 2 videos plus additional 106 pictures here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/109547372@N04/ and tell me how much would you be willing to pay. Kindly include your zipcode so I may calculate total cost to you with your chosen carrier.

Background:

This is a two owner, original to the car, Cardinal Red E28 535 powered front Comfort seat set and accompanying rear seat set.

Condition of the seats is almost the same or perhaps better than when I bought the car in 2012. No real tears or large rips but the leather was particularly very dry at the time, specially the rear bench (less so, 12 years later) since I lather their surface annually with a leather treatment.

Of curious note, I imagine a large Golden retriever, or perhaps a Labrador inhabited the rear seat bench while accompanying the couple who first purchased in Kentucky. As they moved to, and aged in Massachusetts, where the car was bought sight unseen by me, all of their pet's hair that was under the rear bench was finally removed by me in Florida. Luckily for the would be buyer, perhaps you? Neither the first owners or me ever smoked inside the car, so you won’t find any nasty cigarette smell.

Also, over the years as I have insisted to both, my lovely wife and daughter, "my car is not a restaurant" so you won’t find any traces of old baby formula and the like. The car and its seats have been well kept in Colorado since 2016 so there’s no presence of either mold or mildew in these seats, just old world fashioned materials and dust.

All motors and their functions are in working (perfect for their age) condition; meaning typically slow but steady up/down/forward/rearward operational movements. I could be persuaded to include the seat controls (buttons) and the center console that hold the connecting wire modules (also in great condition) as part of the sale. However, the original seat wiring will remain with the car. If interested will submit pictures of the latter at a later date.

Included in the sale are: Rear headrest set (dyed) but unoriginal to the car. This rear headrest pair matches in appearance and shape the front headrests. For the unaware, these are no cat ears. All three arm rests (one main at the back, two front) fold up and forward flawlessly as seen in pictures and videos. Everything is working and nothing is broken.

You are seeing what you will get. Both seats rise and lower to the same height (you are seeing the driver’s a bit higher and this is because I did not lower it enough before removal). Some age discoloration, small discernible rips around the back of the front seat belts and other minuscule areas.

What is not included: All four door cards. Rear headrest mounting parts such as coverings or holders.

Will accept money orders, or Venmo. I am staying away from PayPal as its owner is a fascist enabler, so I am avoiding using this method, but if you insist, I can contemplate it just this once, plus fees.

I would consider shipping them at the would-be-buyer expense via DHL, FeDex or the dog (no pun intended). I will not separate the seats or pick the arm rest apart in order to sell any of them.

Thank you all once more for your interest.

Seats look very nice, as does the 535i - is it Delphin? Looks like Delphin! (BEST. COLOR. EVAH.)

Just curious- why are you getting rid of the seats, what are you replacing them with?

Don't mean to rain on your parade (you do seem to be nice *and* on the correct side of history  ), but just be aware that if you're able to find anyone, anywhere, looking to *pay money* for BMW E28 "comfort" seats - that's like finding an albino unicorn

Okay, as someone who has cardinal (sport) interior and scours the internet endlessly for everything e28 related...
I've seen sets of seats (non cardinal/non rear headrests) for $1k - $2k... So, with that being said, I feel as if you're gonna get a lump sum if you find the right buyer!
There's a set of e30 cardinal seats with door cards on eBay right now for just under $4k... Food for thought.
GLWS! Beautiful Set of seats you've got!

Hi Foonfer,

Yes it is a Delphin-Metallic. Can't believe you missed their replacement (albeit barely shown on the second picture), in this thread. Also partially seen is the driver's seat in IMG_6369 in my album. Any guess?

As far as money, my intention first is to give the would-be-buyer a good representation of what they are, out of sheer respect and consideration. The fellow who eventually sold me their replacement is very meticulous and generous with info and pictures, and I appreciate his effort. So I've tried to emulate him not expecting that these Cardinals will cover my girl's high-school allowance anytime. Just looking to have these seats be placed in a nice home other than mine, for a decent price.

My daughter who believes in unicorns and always refers to this Delphin as "the car with the red seats", actually wants me to keep the seats and dreams of driving the car to school one day. So I may eventually keep them for her if that elusive albino unicorn doesn't show up.

Now, this forum and some of its members are such a blessing to me, that I'd like to give something back even if not for free but for what experts might consider a fair price, so they can be enjoyed too you know?

Thanks for your reply!

You made my wife's day as she doesn't believe in unicorns, albino or otherwise. But keeps pushing me to sell them just to empty garage storage space. Will see where these eventually land. Thank you for your insights.

damn i'm local and got a cardinal interior too, would be sick to have leather that's in way nicer condition. but alas, just like astupidname, cursed with non-comfort fronts so it's all but non-existent. glws, it's a beautiful set that i'd love to grab if i could justify it lol.

Hi,
Have you sold the cardinal interior. If not how much are you asking for the set.
Thanks, Ed Shadd

Thanks for asking.

The leather has been professionally taken off from rear bench by reupholster, along with complete rear center arm. All other pieces are being safely stored and are for sale, minus the rear headrests.

The bench chassis and foam have been repurposed and are not for sale.

Rear head rests have been sold.

Front seats are still available in the same as is condition as in the thread link.

$200 for the front pair.
$100 for front center console + two perfect electric seat modules.
$100 for rear bench leather includes fully assembled (foam underneath and actual cover intact) rear arm rest.

You’d need to pay for shipping and materials to safely wrap them up.

Won’t take PayPal. Only Venmo, cashier’s s check, money order or cash.

Best to you in your search.

Hi,
I'd like very much to buy the rear seat covers and arm rest. Please let me know how much packing and shipping would be and I'll send you a money order right away.
