Clean water from middle of catback
Clean water from middle of catback
I am having interesting issue with my car it, motor is M30B35, car starts and runs great once it warms up runs fine, until I turn it down for few minutes, then it turns but won't start. After seating for about 20 minutes, it starts right up, but I get clean water dripping from middle of the cat back pipe. If it is coolant, isn't it supposed to be green, I also did leak down test all within 15%. Coolant is clean, no sign of oil, so I am not so sure if head gasket is blown or what. Car does not overheat.
Re: Clean water from middle of catback
Condensation is a byproduct of combustion. I often see it out the tailpipe after a cold start if it's idling for a while, but eventually as it gets up to temp it usually stops, you wouldn't see it after a run on the freeway for instance. As long as it's clear, assuming you're running an anti freeze mix, I wouldn't worry about it.

What he said. Sounds like the exhaust isn't hot enough all the way back to prevent the condensation. Also this is why cars regularly used on short runs have exhaust problems, the inside stays wet instead of cooking the moisture out.
