Clutch pedal travel

Post by M Blitz »

I've searched and searched the archives and found nothing that addresses my issue.

I just swapped an S52 and manual trans into my former auto 528E. Everything clutch is OEM brand new.

I find that the clutch is catching really, really low, almost as soon as I start to release it and feels really awkward.

Bentley says clutch pedal should be about 10 inches from firewall, but I'm more like 7 or 8 inches. The clutch pedal is even with the brake pedal. Bentley also mentions an eccentric adjustment, but I don't see one in the master.

Other than maybe re-bleeding the clutch is there something I'm missing?

Thanks in advance for any help and tips.

Part number 3 in this diagram is an eccentric. Where the master cylinder bolts up to the pedal.
