hi all, my stock '82 528e, fully fettled and tuned up won't fire up 'normally - with vigor' after it's warm. It will start but stumble unless you blip the throttle then idle perfectly...if you don't blip it, it will die, or idle very very low, then slowly rise to a normal idle...
I've had this issue for a while and have posted several times. It's driving me nuts. I looked at all potential culprits: replaced the idle control unit with a Programa, general tune up, leaking injectors, carbon on pistons, leaky cold start valve, vacuum leaks, ICV, throttle body switch, butterfly adjustment...and more. I feel like i may have narrowed it down to the cold start injector firing all the time...the TTS is working properly...I referenced the electrical troubleshooting guide and I can't quite figure out the wiring + connection between the TTS and the cold start valve: should there be power to the cold start valve all the time? And it would ground to fire until the TTS say not to? could a frayed wire be grounding it all the time - during start up?
any thoughts or experience?
Thanks Chuck
