Remember the Seinfeld episode...that made that line famous?
Well here's a 1972 BMW 3.0 CSL formerly owned by the "bad guy" actor -
Malcolm McDowell :

Gorgeous car...but is that detail photo of the rear suspension showing "lift kit" of sorts?
Please educate me/us if you know what's going on back there...

That is a really nice car. It'd be a lot of fun to cruise around in that on the weekends.
Is this the picture you're referring to?
I don't know which part you might think is a lift kit, maybe I'm not seeing it. That rod in the lower center of the picture (with red bushing on the bottom and black up top) is just the swaybar link. Is that what you were looking at?

Skeen,
Yes, that is the picture to which I was referring. I just don't know the e9 suspension set-up at all.
When I was perusing the photos that one caught my eye and I thought I'd ask you guys what it was.
Thanks for the clarification...
Best,
Tim
ps.
Interesting to know that Malcolm had one of these cars...
Here's a LINK to a '73 3.0 CSL (black "batmobile" with fender fences and roof and trunk spoilers) in Hemmings Motor News - not cheap @ $40k

I don't know much about CSL's, but it looks a little high off the ground.
For anyone interested in seeing a really cool CSL, here are pics of my
friend Mitch's Series I Golf Yellow CSL.

The rarest CSL probably next to the Bats from what I know about them.
The Series I cars were carburator models and were built by Alpina for
BMW since BMW Motorsport hadn't quite gotten off the ground yet.
Mitch also owns an E28 Alpina B7 Turbo that you guys on the list have
probably seen pictures of, and an E12 Alpina B7 Turbo that he's finishing
a restoration on.
