Fascinating story about how Bob Doehler, who eventually became a Mercedes distributor in the U.S., assembled a 300SL gullwing by purchasing each and every part for it from MB.
This story was originally published in 1997 in the MB Club of America's magazine. When Mr. Doehler died, the car was put up for sale on the website below. The car has since sold but the story remains as do photos. Fascinating...
