I sometimes find myself trying to find someone's profile to send them a pm and it would be great to be able to search the memberlist. If you want to find someone's name that starts with "j" (and you don't know the whole name) you have to go through each page individually till you get there.
Under the "Search" function, there is a "Search by Author" field that'll allow you to find a post from the person you're looking for. From there it's easy to send a PM or do whatever else you were trying to do.
Well, if you are trying to send a PM, why not click the "Find Username" button when making a new message? Seems like you are making things harder than it needs to be!
