Site down for the past few days?
I haven't been able to load it since Friday maybe? Anything major go wrong?
Re: Site down for the past few days?
The site wasn't down, the non-IP URL was. Just that good 'ole recurring problem that goes by the initials "DNS" -- search the archives on that for some history. The next time the site seems to have disappeared, use this: http://69.10.155.69/Adam W in MN wrote:I haven't been able to load it since Friday maybe? Anything major go wrong?
The issue is this, in a nutshell. The site uses domain name servers owned by the company that originally hosted MyE28.com. The DNS information was updated to redirect to our new servers when the phpBB version was launched. However, it seems that this company's backup information is not correct, and every time they reboot their DNS, it redirects the site back to the old server which no longer exists. We have our own DNS with the new hosting company, the information just needs to be changed to use that DNS instead of the old one.
I'm working on it, I swear. Between filling boxes, loading them into a trailer, driving them over an hour to a new location, and unloading them, I am actually trying to fix this so it never happens again. I just need to get in touch with a certain person who is likely very busy given the holiday season. If he doesn't get in touch by January sometime I'm going to drive to his house and knock on his door.
I will, however, admit that I didn't realize the site was down right away.
