Happy new year!

I have a Diamantschwarz 1988 BMW 535is for sale.

I have been buying and restoring these old bimmers for years and in that time I have learned that honesty sells a car. You need to know what is right and what is wrong with this car, along with all the work I have done to it. No silly business.
---------------------------------------
The Good:

The car comes with a set of 16" BBS RS 3 piece wheels with Yokohama Avid tires.
These wheels are no longer manufactured and are considered by some to be the nicest looking wheels to run on an old bimmer. The wheels have painted centers and polished aluminum outside rims held together by 34 bolts.

The car has a new Diamantschwarz (Metallic black) paint job.

The car runs, drives, shifts and stops well.

The transmission looks much cleaner than it should. It may be new or rebuilt.

The engine runs smoothly at idle and full throttle and does not overheat.

The body is solid and the only rust is in the rear valance and is pictured.

I have partial maintenance records.
----------------------------------------
Work Performed:

Changed oil and filter.

Flushed cooling system and replaced with new coolant.

Adjusted valves and inspected/re lock tited banjo bolts.

Swapped passenger seat with drivers.

Repainted car.

Repainted black trim.

Stripped failing clearcoat from wheel outside rims.
-------------------------------------
The Bad:

The odometer stopped at 274k. The engine is still very healthy. It does not appear to burn any oil or coolant and pulls strong. (go M30's! )

The AC does not work.

The passenger seat has a broken tilt mechanism. It is still serviceable.

The radio does not work, it is not hooked up.

The trunk springs do not hold the trunk lid open.

There is a dent on the fender as pictured.

The paint job is not of the finest quality.

There are the usual e28 dash cracks.

The passenger seat bolster is torn.

The rear window slides down so I motored it up and disconnected the motor to prevent accidental use. The swing arm is missing a circlip.

There is no front air dam.

The control arm bushings and ball joints are worn.

The rear bumper is cracked.
--------------------------------------
If you have any questions or would like to arrange a test drive don't hesitate to email me at patrickmchugh23@gmail.com. The car is located near the Richmond Airport in Richmond, VA 23231.

In regards to the A/C here's what I know.

The car is 20 years old, most likely a seal has slowly leaked the fluid out and the system has lost it's charge. The blower works, the AUX fan works, and the compressor clutch engages when the button is pressed.

To repair it wouldn't require too much work, perhaps replacing all the seals, a new receiver drier (always replace this when the system has seen the environment) draw a vacuum on it and recharge.
