Can only log in through 209.97.199.179...

Post by RonW »

The site won't let me log in via mye28.com, only via 209.97.199.179.

On mye28.com, it shows the login screen, but it just doesn't let me in.

And yes, I made sure I was logged out of 209.97.199.179 when I tried to log in on mye28.com.

Patience, please. It'll take a while for the DNS to propagate the MyE28.com name. It's not a technical problem that needs to be fixed.

Check your cookies. Look for one from 209.87.199.179 and one from MyE28.com.

Delete both, clear your cache, restart your browser, and try again.

Thanks. That worked.

But how is that "not a technical problem," and how will many others ever make it back to the list?

Thanks, though, for whatever update you were implementing that must have had this quirk as an unexpected by-product.

Shawn was partially mistaken.

It's not a technical issue with the new server, that much is correct. It's a problem on the user end, particularly if you got on before all the new DNS info had made its way through the pipeline. Your browser cookies got confused.

I'll make an announcement in General Conversation regarding the fix.

Thanks for straightening me out, Jeremy! I looked for that short thread we had earlier on the DNS propagation, but couldn't find it.

How? Because I thought it wasn't a technical problem when I made that statement.
