FS:1988 535is 5-Speed $5,000 - SOLD

Post by andy535iyes »

All,
I've added a new car (e28 M5) to the stable so now I must sell my trusted daily driver for the past 5 years.

For Sale 1988 BMW 535is
5-speed manual 220 k miles, DiamantSchwartz Metallic over very good condition black leather interior, no dash cracks and original AC works great. Original paint is in good condition with some rock chips. The windows have been professionally tinted and all guides and moldings are in great shape.

No rips, tears or worn spots in the leather seats. Everything works, all windows, seat controls (incl. headrests), and gauges. Almost all of the rubber bits under the hood have been replaced (fuel lines, vacuum lines, radiator hoses).

The car has seen 3 track days for BMW Car Club Driving Schools. The adjustable ST anti-sway bars make the car neutral through the corners and it is a thrill to drive.

Engine:
• Original head and block, Mobil 1 since I’ve owned it (7,500 mile interval). Uses about a quart of synthetic oil every 4,000 miles.
• Valves adjusted to .012” (cold) 2,200 miles ago
• Service at 200,000
o New vacuum lines
o New radiator hoses
o New fuel lines (except return line)
• Custom one-piece exhaust from down pipes (magnaflow cat, resonator, exhaust) a little bit louder than stock and much throatier.
Suspension:
• Bavarian Auto progressive rate springs
• Bilstein Sport struts and shocks
• ST adjustable sway bars (25mm, 19mm)
o Professionally welded front and rear mount reinforcements
• Mason Engineering front and rear strut/shock bars
• Poly filled OE subframe bushings
• Adjustable rear trailing arm bushings
• Grunts bushings on thrust arms (UCA)
Brakes (Stage IV):
• e32 fronts w/ Balo rotors
• e34 vented rears w/ Brembo rotors
• UUC stainless steel brake lines
• e32 master cylinder
Drive Train:
• New rebuilt driveshaft and center support bearing
• 3.46 LSD
• E36 M3 short shift kit
• New clutch at 173k
Misc:
• Hella H4 high and low beams lenses/bulbs (lenses in great shape
• Car will be sold with Borbet type H 5-spoke 15” wheels with Dunlop M2 snow tires with less then 1,000 miles on them.

Negatives:
• damage to the drivers front quarter panel from a parking lot hit (didn't leave a note) that also.
• half dollar sized dent on the hood when I shut it and I had a tool still underneath
• usual rock chips
• peeling clear coat on the rear spoiler only. The rest of the paint is in good shape
• parking lot dent just forward of the driver's tail light on the rear quarter panel, light has been replaced

Lots more pictures at: http://s260.photobucket.com/albums/ii31 ... =slideshow

Lots of spare parts including good condition head with custom chip that will be listed later in part for sale.

Thanks for looking.

That's a beauty. Best of luck with the sale! Sometimes I wish was in the market.
