Can we create a Reigional forum?

Post by bmwfan1957 »

It would be nice to have a forum dedicated to reigional topics in order to strengthen our local e28 communities across the nation. I know I'd be more involved if there were a forum that made those things even easier. Maybe with a map with clickable countries/states to access the reigional forums. Called reigional events/topics. This is just a brainstorm. Maybe I'll learn flash and build it myself LOL.

It would be better if folks created their own website/lists outside of the forum. I've done that for the Atlanta region. Adding more sub-forums will only garbage up this site, IMO.

Dude, if you can't spell it, how ya gonna do it?

Just screwin' with ya. ;)

Seriously, I like that we have the national coverage here. The BMW MOA forum did recently create a number of regional forums, but they are a different kind of organization. They have a known (paid!) membership of about 40,000, which I daresay is much larger than the active membership here. They hold dozens of 'rallies' throughout the country, many, if not most, of which are better attended than our one big national event of 5er Fest, so the regional forums make some sense. The bigger problem might be where you are. The northwest region would be huge and sparsely populated. I agree with Shawn that we have enough (actually too many, IMHO) subforums and that more isn't necessarily going to add anything to the site.

Yeah I see what you mean. Maybe instead of that a map showing where all the members are would be better. Basically all I would like to be able to do is see who is where in a faster way than having to look at eveyones profile or wait for them to comment. That'd be a lot less clutter. Maybe add in a way to pm everyone at once in a given reigon about an event.

LOL. And I'm sleep deprived so sorry about the misspelling. Regional. There. I think...
