The Hartge has been For Sale for quite a while now. It was once for sale by Evan Esterman, in the Bay area. I've noticed his ads under a different Company name recently and this seller's name is different, so I don't know the story on the car now.

The Hartge has been around, but all on the left side of the country. Hasn't had an owner east of Colorado since it surfaced years ago.

who knows right now. I guess Aaron sold it from Arizona back to CA. Maybe it is having a hard time getting plates.

Over the past couple years, the 2 prior owners have advertised the car numerous times...could have bought it about 2 years ago from the AZ located owner for about 6K...always thought it was an interesting car.

Actually, the car never really changed hands. The Hartge went because the guy in AZ needed a car with AC and was affiliated with BimmerBros, so he got that black/llama '87 535 in September '07 and sold it to a fellow in Canada. The turbo car is simply being advertised through them. It's still in AZ.

It was also for sale by a dealer in Reno @ a year ago - the pic looked like the car was physically there - but who knows?

Well I have talked to the WA, CO, 2nd CA and AZ owners during the time they had the car or just after selling it.

How owns it now? I guess it has been advertised by a number of car shops for sale on consignment.

I owned that car at one time...

I had the car at one time. I owned for a year or so. I did all the interior, suspension, brake and HVAC fixes. I had the interior done in the same style as the original material, but included blue leather on the seat surfaces with the velour. I also was able to source some correct 16" Hartge staggered wheels - for it. That was not easy.

Nice car, very smooth. It did need valve guides.

The car was originally imported through Alabama or Arkansas via a firm in Florida for a gentleman that owned a manufacturing company. It then went to Florida - where the sun and humidity killed the interior and paint. Then it went to So Cal - it was painted. Then me - I did the interior and mechanicals. Then it went to Washington - from there - who knows.

The car was so original when I bought - it still had the factory stereo - it did not work.

The engine is a dirty euro short storck 3.5, with correct Hartge head and header.

Had all the factory and Hartge build sheets included. Very rare options, like sport seats in an e23.

When I sold it, it had the correct Hartge front spoiler included - not sure what happened to it.

Hope it goes to a good home.
