Hi Everyone,

I'm curious to know if anyone has see Style 8's on our e28's an dhow they look. I have a set I can pick up from a friend for $600 with good rubber, and they are all in great shape. But I'm not sure how these will look on the car.

They look excellent. Since they have an offset of et15, they have a little bit more of an aggressive stance. They are one of my personal favorites.

I think they look good as well. I know 87royal had them on his car, but his pictures are missing.

Wow, I guess they do look good. Does $600 for a clean set of wheels with minimal rubs and no clear coat issues seem reasonable?

$600 is okay if they come with good quality tires. The used wheel/tire market is always hard to judge. I have seen some really good deals on the local craig's list lately. Also, consider that if the tires on these wheels were from the 8 series, they will be significantly too big for an E28. The tire of choice for this wheel on an E28 will be a 225/50/16. Even with a 225/50/16, you may have to roll your rear fenders. I did.

However, there are not too many sets of these style 8's floating around. And, I believe these are forged wheels.

Nothing, C.R. Let me rephrase my previous statements. 225/50/16 would be my choice of tire. 205/60/16 would work well too.

IMHO, the best tire size is 205x55x16. You should have very minimal, if any, rubbing under heavy loads in the rear (on the sidewall of the tire).

+1 -- Style 9s (ET 15 also) on the 533i with 205/55s

Can't find the picture of mine, but I think the style 8 looks great on these cars.
I agree, 205/55 tires is what I had, no rubbing issues.

I didn't mean to jump your ass over this. I just snapped because it seems that every time somebody buys a set of non-E28 wheels, they're told here to put on tires that stand a good chance of fender interference with the casual caveat, "You might have to roll your fender lips."

The far simpler solution is to use a 205 tire and just drive the car. In deference to those who pointed out the 55 section tires, yes, those work too. So does a 205/50. Depends on what you find and your tolerance for speedo inaccuracy. I found minor interference with a set of 215s I got on a set of used wheels. When I replaced them, it was with 205s.

No worries. I know how you feel about this topic and I can't argue the reasoning.

Here they are on my 535is shortly after purchase with 215/55/16 tires. No fender interference. I thought the tires to be a bit tall. A 205/55 will be fine, but make you look like less of a man. Suck it up. I have no idea what any of that means. Deal with it.



They're the ugliest wheels I've ever seen on an E28. That's why I've had four sets. I finally have my keeper set, but no car to put them on.

BTW, if you buy a set and they have 235/50s, don't even bother trying to mount them. AMHIK.

I picked up a set of 3 Style 8's with some good rubber on them. The 4th is a Style 5 with matching rubber. The 8's are in great shape, but I need to find a 4th to match at some point soon. Thanks again to everyone for the help. I'll share photos once they are on.

I got a set on my 535i with 205/55s i love the look of them.

Your car has to be lowered for it to look right....

Those are style 5s, Brad.

I think the E30 M3 still used that old dust cap for the front. Get the new one.
