Hey guys, just a few questions,
I hate to say it but my gf had an accident in her 87' 528e, resulting in a collapsed radiator support, crumpled hood, and the front clip being bent down to the point that salvaging the car would require a complete front clip. We've decided to part out the rest of the car but we're a bit new to this "part out" deal, over the internet anyway. Is it ok for me to just start a partout thread in the wanted section with pics and prices? Do I need to check anything before hand? I'm asking because I figured it'd seem shady if I came out of nowhere and started a thread. We're not trying to make a fortune and we're not trying to scam anybody, we're just trying to make the best of a bad situation, and we're new to this so we're kinda ignorant.
So anyway, any tips or advice would be GREATLY appreciated.
Ps. the car is located in western NC
"Wanted" Noob here
No the rule is in your first parting out excercise you have to give your car in its entirety to another noob who doesn't have on for free. Namely moi.
Kidding. Post pictures of the car, a discription of its general condition, mileage, options, etc. and list the parts you think are salvageable.
Use the search function restricted to For Sale - Parts section to get a general sense of what pieces are worth.
If people are asking you to ship large parts, long distances, Greyhound offers a package service that is very reasonable and apparently fairly reliable.
