I have a set of e34 bumpers I'm toying with puting on my e28. The rear looks like it'll line up almost perfectly.

The front on the other hand is roughly the same width, but the contour of the front is way off and it looks dumb when it doesn't follow the nice nose of the e28 hood and grill. The e34 bumper is straighter across and looks poopy. I was planning on re-contouring the bumper to see if it works, but I haven't had time to do it. As for mounts, I'm going to try to use the e34 mounts, but it probably wont work so...

Most people on here hate the thought of it and I don't have any reason to argue with them, but I think the e34 bumpers will give the car a stouter look and done right probably look badace.

This video has an e28 with e34 bumpers on it. Take a look at the side profile in the front and you'll see what I mean about the two different contours. It makes the bumper look sucked in, like someone punched it right in the jaw.

It has been discussed with pictures. One of my concerns is that the rear bumper exhaust opening doesn't line up and will look poor among other things.

yeah...

I forgot about that part.

I was going to do some trunk work to get the exhaust to come out in the e34 position over to the left side of the car.

This looks like a video you usually see on the 6 o'clock news of footage caught before the story "Dumb ass loses control showing off on camera and crashes into fuel pumps, the following explosion kills a mother with 3 children, and injures 8. The driver miraculously survives to get his day in court."

In any event, the look of that bumper on the car tucks closer than the hood's crest but, it still gives it that "forward look" like Chrysler's of the 50's had which is still pretty appealing. I too am considering such a swap mainly for the idea of a color-matched front and rear bumper and giving the box a touch of modernity.

Pretty sure they won't use the term, "Dumb ass" on the 6 o'clock news.

E34 bumpers look stupid.

I don't care for the "overbite" look...

No, it's not just you. That angle definitely doesn't flatter e34 bumpers on an e28.

There is just something about that looks off. Maybe it's just that particular car because I have seen other pics of e34 bumpers that I actually like.

This front bumper looks pretty good. In the vid, if you catch it in the right spot, shows the front bumper about 5 inchest behind the hood point.

I don"t think the rear bumper in the pic is an e34 bumper.

Almost like an e30 style.

Either way I want to try it out sometime on my car.

I might get dis-owned from the mye28 crowd because I'll be removing my euro bumpers.

Fixed that for ya. This board is mixed with different folks basically. They'll praise the TCD turbo kit, and dozens of different wheel combo's and euro-light conversions, but some of those same people will basically hate all over body mods, namely other chassis' body mods like e34 headlights or bumpers. It's your car, do as you like and make it into your own image. We can't all be the same euro-headlight, bumper and 16" wheel sheep. Besides, if you do it up clean and professionally, someone's going to want your car ... badly. Look at the guy with that highly modded E9. No one cried foul on his bodywork.

I always thought that was the epitome of pics documenting this.

Actually looks quite good. I've homebrewed many a bumpers over the years until I finally completed my euro set. I'm going to snag an e34 bumper and do this for my beater.

That looks the tits! Very nice, I would do that to an e28.
