Sorry I couldn't be there and I hope my house is not trashed.

How was it?

I think your house is fine. We've got a guy coming to fix that one thing in a few. Even works on Sundays.

Hey John,

Thanks for letting us use your crib.
The Holiday Inn cleaning crew (Darin) has it looking better than ever.

Sorry you missed the Vintage. There was a great representation from the E28 crowd including 6 M5s.

Well John, since you asked: It was a great event. Too bad you missed it.

A big thanks to John Barlow and Jeff d'Avanzo at SolCal Vintage BMW, their respective families and all the volunteers that made this event a really great one this year. We had a much bigger turnout from the E28 community this year than last which was good to see. I think we had about 20 to 24 5'ers there (both E28's and some E12's). I didn't get the total count for the whole show, but I'm pretty sure it exceeded the 250 cars they were expecting. We had fantastic weather this year: hot, clear, dry and sunny in the high '80's (sorry East Coasters).

It was good to see all the SD/OC guys up for it: Jeff, Darin, Charles, Mike, Eric, etc. Chris Kohler even came in for it (always nice to see another M535 at these things). We even had a few guys in from farther away (forgive me as I've forgotten your names) Utah and New Mexico. Also it was good to see the locals come out for it (too many to mention). Lot's of familiar faces.

Congratulations to Jesus and his stunning red Alpina E12 B93.5 for wining Best 5 Series this year; a worthy car indeed.

A nice way to end the season; can't wait until St.Paddy's in March. Maybe next year we can form up some sort of longer after party/BBQ around this for everyone in town.

Here's my photobucket album with some random pics taken at the meet, pardon the lack of e28's, my brother was taking the pics.... It was a nice day...met some cool folks and some from this board. GREAT turnout of cars.
What was the deal with the goodie bag tho? After talking it up...mine only had a pen, a license plate frame and two packets of tire gel...

Com'on Eric, you know us Westsiders: anything beyond the 605 might as well be a foreign country to us. ;) Sorry, but I always forget you're on the other side of that little mountain.

Hmmm: 5er Fest 2012??? I here Phoenix is really nice in January, Chris.

Vince – It was nice seeing you and thanks for taking all the pics. They always look better when the photographer knows what he’s doing.

John – Just be glad I didn’t stay at your house. I slept with your dog in Karen’s guest room.

Mike – Thanks for the great dinner. You make a mean Filet Mignon.

Perhaps next time; maybe in March at St. Paddy's?
