M535i and vin decode

Post by oliwer78 »

Can someone decode this VIN? My old decoders decided to quit. FB is not as helpful as expected.

Seats, interior, etc.

WBADC710700643457

All help appreciated! TIA!

That's because there isn't any other information on your car available.
Pull the rear seat bottom, there should be a paper tag looped on the right side metal frame.
That (if it's there and the original tag) will have the option codes for your car.

Poverty spec artic blue with no interior color/material listed

S915 No Cosmoline except undercarriage
that is it.

Is that what came back on your FB query?

Did not get the car just yet. I was also concerned if DC71 in the VIN warrants the 10:1 engine.

According to the M Registry, yes: DC71 is EU spec without Catalyst (LHD Manual). This is the high compression M30B34 motor.

According to the list of options and some internet forum activity, this translation is a crude place-marker of sorts BMW used to future options. If you view the entire option code list (see here: https://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/threads/ ... ish.20824/), they used this 'DUMMY-SALAPA' many times for many codes.
However, in the list, S915A is listed as "ENTFALL AUSSENHAUTKONSERVIERUNG" which roughly translates into 'No Outer Skin Preservation'. Or as Blue Shadow stated: 'No Cosmoline, except undercarriage'.

Thank you!
So that’s actually a good thing.
I was told that the car was on eBay astound 8-9 months ago, but I was unable to retrieve the old listing. Either way it is on the trailer now on the way here.

Also, any pictures?

I saw the list as posted. You asked about the interior and my post was just the facts from the list, not a build sheet as you would find with a decoder.

The SA code translations I posted are what we believe are correct for these older cars. The codes were reused and the decoders probably use the newer translation. I keep track of the older codes.

Didn't Kohler help determine the no cosmoline was the 915 SA code?

My H7s has the same DC71 motor, so it is a high compression motor.

I have some pictures, how do you host these? I stopped using Photobucket or the other things as I don’t really need them anymore.
