Premade leather seat covers for 528e- Quality?

Post by JoelTell »

Has anyone tried Lseat.com?
I got their swatches and color match is perfect.
Price seems incredibly low so just looking for anyone who can speak to quality and fit.

I plan to remove original leather and install these as replacements.

There was at least one discussion about Lseat: https://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?f=2 ... ilit=lseat I just quickly skimmed through the posts, but it looks like at least one person bought from them and seemed happy, but another person wasn't happy with their customer service. There are probably others, use the Search function at the upper right corner of the page to find them.

From what I remember that seems to be the usual on upholstery, some good, some bad reviews. I believe Lseat uses Bonded Leather, which if good, from my readings, can be pretty good. But often it's not. It's essentially leather particle board, ground leather glued together onto a backing. How good their stuff is I have no idea. It is leather, but not like a skin. Might be worth a call and ask them about warranty and delamination like I have on my office chair I'm sitting on where the surface is peeling away. They refer to it as "seat covers" I would (I think, from their description) refer to it as replacement upholstery, not like the $19.99 velour seat covers you put over the top. (BTDT, sometimes you do what you need to)

I wouldn't expect factory grade materials, but for the price... I can see them in the future for my wife's E39 touring, the drivers seat is getting a bit on the hard side and I could see it cracking in the foreseeable future. And for the price... Of course sometimes you get what you pay for too.

This was my thread, no issues to this point minus some wear on the pipping. I would do a French seam if I were to do it again. They sewed the front e46 seats to match the e28 pattern, if I bought an extra hid for the doors and seat backs. The upholstery shop said it was real leather and the hid was a random shape as well.

For the price I am happy

I bought a set for my sport seats 5 years ago. Holding up even though they may not be as nice as oem in thickness or fitment.

But I had. Good enough experience I decided to reorder for my recaro seats. Here's how they turned out. Not perfect but good enough for me and my own diy effort. Less than half the price of other vendors for materials, let alone the savings for install.

You can see the oem seat on the left which has some sunken leather, but it is 40 years old...
