S38B35 / M88 / M30 strengthened Crank hub

Hi guys,

since I've been getting a lot of request for another batch of strengthened crank hubs, we decided to schedule another run.
Unfortunately it won't be until late January for the deliveries, but since you don't need the hub until the whole engine is back together it will still give all of you plenty of time to finish your engines for the 2019 season.

Same specs as last time: High strength alloy steel (same material as forged cranks), hardened, hard finish turned to spec.
Original ones are NLA and are prone to show fatigue failure at high rpm applications (which the M88 and S38 clearly are).

Price: $300 + shipping
Full Payment due before order confirmation.

Pardon my ignorance for asking, but is this equivalent to the Frank fahey crank hub? Are the Fahey hubs no longer available?

Yes sir! We had the same question in the old thread. Since the Fahey hubs weren’t available for the longest time, I decided to make my own run.

By now, multiple engines are on the road with these hubs, including some from VSR and Mark Hutto.

Confirmed the production schedule today, we are in for mid February which will bring us to a shipping date of cw10.
Unfortunately these take a long time with multiple machining steps, broaching, external heat treatment and finish turning.

I'm taking the deposits now, since the run is smaller the price went up a little, but I think it's still very fair compared to what's out there.

E: For the California crew I can deliver at St. Paddies day.

Got a slot at heat treat on 3/6, the finish turn will be done fairly quick afterwards.

Still have a couple of blanks left, let me know who needs more.

Ben's crank hub has been installed for 3 years now on my s38 which sees RPM over 6500 on a regular basis. Great product.

I didn’t plan on starting another run but had a shop request a large amount, couple other well known engine builders tagged along.

Wish I would get rich off these and I’d make them all day. Until then it’s not really more than covering my efforts of bringing them to the heat treater, hardness testing and shipping them out, on top of paying my machinist.

Just helping out the people that see a need in using them on their engines. I think I’ve made close to 100 of them now.

Go for it.
I saw the Ireland mention. Guess that's the shop? Glad these are made better than the oversize SS valves I bought from them and had fail.

You don't need one but I'm sure Ben will sell you one.
Biggest fake story every put out about the S38. A guy named Fahey wanted to make some money, so he put out a story about the hubs coming apart.
See if you can find a story where one did. Hundreds have tried.

I can always request another run through the shop. Would have to be at least 10 of them - so if the team at Ireland has enough demand, they can always reach out.

Right at 190,000 and running strong and frequently hitting the rev limiter at 7200

I'm working with IE and my machine shop to get another 20 made. Should be available early 2025.
