Why am I not surprised to see this from the guy that complained about how much I was selling it for and passed on it?

I'm not complaining and have no use for this piece but I still want to know why these things are so expensive? :dunno:

The amount of a commodity, product, or service available and the desire of buyers for it, considered as factors regulating its price.

Well, the best benifit of this item is that this cover will install with arp studs. BMW valvecovers you have to modify the vent for it to sit completly flat. The for the other reasons. Blah

Nice piece. I didn't realize these are marketed so high. I guess thats why you rarely see them.

It is the other way around. If you rarely see them, one can sometimes get a healthy price for them. If we saw them a lot, the price would be a couple few c-notes, no more. This one would be hard to duplicate but the exhaust tip that is offered at 225 could be duplicated. Don't know what it would cost to have it made, though.

I'm surprised someone hasn't started reproducing some of the 80's tuner parts. Remember this Hartge oil pan that went for $4200? http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?t=123665

I was talking with H&B last month about getting a center for a wheel that they refused to sell as a single piece due to some ass hat suing them or Allen's foreshadowing of a potential lawsuit, all I was told is "He's been through that before". Regardless, it was also brought forward that somebody had copied and sold replica H&B wheels. Probably the foundry.

GLWS OP, I've wanted one of those for a long time.
