WTB E28 Sunshade

Post by danielpouch »

Looking for an OEM E28 sunshade for my 535is.

PN 82-11-1-467-110

Any other OEM options that aren't NLA and have a similar fitment in E28?

Thx

The E34 sunshade fits fairly well

I've been using this one for an E90 for quite some time on my E28 and it fits pretty damn perfectly: 82-11-0-399-145

I recommend the Covercraft one for the e28. I heard they used to make the official BMW ones, and they are still available. They just dont have the big lettering. Excellent quality.

Ditto and do you think it would work in an E39?

It's usually dark when I get home and I work every Saturday, but I'm happy to snap a shot. I also have a couple of E39s I could try it in and the one in my E82 is another possibility as it is the same part as used currently for the 2-series coupes. I believe I also have the correct one for the E39 and E34, if those are still in production, and I could check the p/n. Since the original OE supplier for BMW NA versions are all made by Covercraft, you can always go to their website and choose the pattern by make/model/year and in your choice of color, though without the "BMW" on the front. About $70 with free shipping. They do show a unique part number for our cars.

I use one in my E82 that fits that car perfectly. Checking the part number (82110415260) it seems this one is designed for the E92 coupes.

I'll check that one against the E90 one that's in my E28 tomorrow.

Apparently the correct part number for the E82 is 82110443851 but I'm not sure how it could fit any better?

As I recall, the correct shade for the E82 is the same part number for a 2-series coupe. They just kept the same one.

FCP Euro still shows the OE sunshade for E60 and E34, but I didn't find one for the E39, for some reason. Not sure how those would fit.I'll have to check to see if I have one, or both of those.

Had to knock today's snow off the car. Here's a shot of the part # 82-11-0-399-145 for an E90 in my E28. It could maybe be an inch wider but it does a good job. The one for the E92 coupe I use in my E82 is much narrower.

Are you looking for the front or rear window?

Well, the p/n in the first post was for the front . . .

That makes sense. Did not look at the pn,

I always liked the rear shade.

Sure . . . when they worked! Even today I cringe when appraising a modern BMW out of warranty with shades. I let the owner operate them.
