I'm confused. You had this on ebay in April and then a couple of times in May and the car is a flat Laguna Seca Blue. Now, you've posted the same car (same VIN and nearly identical ad) yet the car is the original Arctic Blue.

Was the Laguna Seca Blue a wrap and you took it off? In the original ad, you say "The original paint (Arktisblau-metallic) had been faded by the southern sun and the clear was mostly gone" but in the new ad you say "The exterior looks great as you can see from the photos." Photos are a little dark to be able to discern what the real deal is. What's the exterior's condition?

April Ebay Listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1985-BMW-M5-/16 ... 7675.l2557
Current Ebay Listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-5-Series-DC ... 1803628654

I'm very interested in the car. Thanks!

Looks like he had it repainted since everywhere the car was posted, it got destroyed for the paint.

Then you would think he'd say BRAND NEW PAINT JOB in the original... I would. So, I assumed it was wrapped and it was back to original....

He said it wasn't a great quality paint job in the original listing. He didn't say it wasn't a great quality vinyl wrap. I'm sure it's got a cheap Arktisblau paint job on it now and it really wouldn't be smart to mention that in the ad since that turns a lot of people off. That's a question you answer later.

To the seller's credit, the car looks about a thousand times better now.

(Granted, that isn't say much given it looked like an absolute turd previously.)

It absolutely does. It's what he should have done to begin with. I just wish he posted some better photos.

A trip but a fun one! I wonder if our M535i's overlapped their time in Maine. I wonder if mine is the only one in ME now?

Possibly, it was in S. Portland until 1992 before it came west.

Well, add mine to the list.
http://www.bmwmregistry.com/detail.php?id=14342

Owned it since 2013 and will probably have it as long as I live.
Sadly turboed a long time ago by one of the previous owners when the cars didn't have really high value here in Sweden, still a great car though.
Driven it with a M30B35, VEMS ecu, S6S 420g from a E36 M3 with a changed bellhouse pattern. bla bla bla.. Future plans are to use a S38B38 with a 8X mm turbo.

Will probably make a project thread in the Forced Induction section when I get a bit of time over to transfer all photos..

That may depend on the rules or regulations in your country. Here in the US, new cars are generally started in the fall of the previous year so a car built in September 1985 would probably be considered a 1986 model year.

My M535i was built in July 1985 but is registered here in the US as a 1986.

Hi all,
Here's my Alpine white / black leather, M535 Imported into Australia July 1986. Been on Club registration now for some time so I only get to drive it on sanctioned runs with the BMW Car Club of Queensland.
Have spent $'s on rust repairs about 1 1/2 yrs ago plus just recently had a small dent dent repaired next to the LHS headlight after I backed my bike into it.
Presenting in good to very good condition with the only non oem fixtures being a Z type gear knob and almost period correct cd /radio. TRX rims stored. Only negative is the drivers seat which is looking tired with a split on the bolster. Pulls really well and brakes just fine. Nothing but a joy to drive (as you'd all know).
An honest car with about 277k klm. Not sure about the USA and Canada but these cars, in good condition, are now starting to demand top dollar.
In no hurry to sell.

I purchased an M535i from gray635 recently. It is interesting, since it has power seats and a 3.07 diff with an OD transmission. Dare I say that this car might actually be the keeper for me. Unique, non-S38, favorite color combo (Alpine White/Cardinal).
