My name's Trey Huddle. I have owned my BB M5 since April 2003. It was an Ohio car until I brought it up to where I currently live - in Marquette, MI.

The vin is WBSDC9301J2875322, and while the driver's door label declares a build date of 4/88, it seems it was actually produced 11/23/1987, according to RCBMW. It currently has @182k miles on the ticker...runs solid...looks good.

No, the ninth digit in a BMW VIN is a check digit and varies between X, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. The VIN is correct.

Bought my car in October '09, this car was located in Tomball, TX. It was originally advertised on Craigslist. Yes, this is the black-on-black, US Spec with the Hartge wheels. (':banana:')
I knew this car existed but had never actually seen one with black interior. Nevertheless get to own it. When I went over to look at the car it was sitting in storage, no need to hear or test drive, it was love at first sight (':alright:')Once I bought it, I had it checked with the dealership and they confirmed it was in fact 1 of 30 black-on-black. Work done to it:

Replaced clutch, All fluids, Window gaskets other than that the car runs and drives beautiful.
I feel like the luckiest dog in the world!!

My memory is not as good as these young guys but there was a car that seemed pretty good but was for sale in the $12k
range and just did not sell.

1988 M5 e28 - 3rd owner - redline fluids maintained in Florida

AC compressor is shot - needs some general TLC, rubber components in the rear, etc. It's been sitting for about a year. Not original paint, but body panels have the right VINs Newish Kumho's and interstate battery. No stereo. Lets talk.

141,000 miles

What do you think I'd get for this? Does anyone want it??

So are you saying this is a US Black interior E28 M5?

How about posting the VIN?
No one is going to answer any questions about how much without a lot more information and pix.

Maybe you guys can help me with this one...I recently acquired a black on tan M5, vin WBSDC930XJ2791631. I knew it was a Canadian import. When I recently registered it on the M Registry, it was already registered there by a PO with a comment that it was one of the few black on black imported to Canada. It's definitely not black on black now...and I'm curious why anyone would have swapped out the interior, but having a hard time reconciling why a PO would claim it was black on black...Is there anyway to tell for sure what it was?

If it was a black on black originally, it is no longer, so you'll need to decrement your count of still in existence black on black M5s.

VIN 2791631 is indeed a Canadian spec E28 M5 that was originally built with Black Leather. Can you post photos of the car's current interior?

Here's pics of my current tan interior...ignore the black seat covers...There have been several owners of this car, so someone must have wanted tan or found a deal to replace their aging black....

This is a Canadian car that had probably had the speedo changed.
Look at the plate on the drivers door jam where the manufacture date is and see if it says US or Can.

I believe Matt was only providing info on a black/black M5 - he lives in VA, and is not the seller. We've seen info on this car for at least a year it seems. I recall the upside down 5 on the trunk lid.

Yeah that car has been for sale for a couple years IIRC.

Do you know for sure this was originally a black interior M5? It is an awfully large pain to swap.

The car was originally built with black leather. The Natur interior was transferred from another E28 M5.
