Let the games begin.

Sleeper21 wrote:Holy shit....My family says the e28 has gotto go. Laugh Laugh : I wont even go into whats wrong with my car..its doesnt matter for the sake of the story..(alright, I have a busted TPS, on a fresh rebuilt, all new seals euro motor. I have a M1.3 kit from Matt on the way which is my final piece of the puzzle for my swap...)

They cornered me and pull some sort or e28/ bmw intervention on me like I'm some kind of meth head. None of them know even knows a single thing about cars...just cant understand why I want my e28..Do I understand that its a 30 year old car, ...more parts are going to go bad in the future, Did you see that nice ford explorer for sale up the street? blah , blah, blah. My wife even started crying to seal the deal on me. They all agreed that Im real selfish about this car. Real crappy end to my crappy day.

Last two months has been a real pain in the ass, my car has been down for a while, back up for a week, down for a week. I've think I've spend about $3k on /motor/parts/rental cars/ and shipping too, so their auguments has merit, but i just wont let my e28 go. My 535 gave me about 35k on the roads for work this year, with about 85 k in the last 3 years..with litlle cost in my opinion. But maybe I wrong ROFL

It just seems crazy to me to go out and buy some new plastic car when I put so many miles on a car a year. In four years I would be way over 100k on my new car. Whats that plastic piece of shit going to be worth then, how much would I owe on it ? I cant work on any newer car really. Am I a selfish bastard? I dunno...I was gettin 24 mpg around town and 27 mpg on the hwy with this new engine all last week..I mean...that decent compared to new cars, right ? If anything, I've over spent on "upgrades", but the car is almost completly "baselined" again at this point. Other than a new paint job, there isnt anything I would do to it after my M1.3 kit goes on. I feel I m at the finsh line in alot of respects to my car, just trying to keep the faith and stall until I'm up and running again. Thats and another week in a rental car is my short plan Roundel Rotate Nut Job Roundel Rotate

Kinda defeats the point of "quoting" something, doncha think? The point isn't "something goofy I just thought up", it's "I saw this in another thread".

BTW - nobody's said it yet, but I'm invoking a rule prohibiting self quoting in this thread.

It was evident, thus my question that answered itself. The purpose of this thread is to quote something a member said elsewhere on the board on the day it's said.

if you can get that engine to produce 500 lb/ft of torque, I think the only thing it'll put on the ground is small pieces of the drivetrain and several quarts of fluid.

Couldn't decide, so here's both:

From http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?p=1009777#1009777
Matt wrote: Sending men to outerspace, atop a magnificent column of metals and human ingenuity.. this is the testament to man's mind, his ambition, his excellence. It is a record of his worth; a terrifying spectacle of his dominion over nature.

I imagine a thousand million glass ceilings above that rocket, representing the doubts of the small minded; the failures of those who gave up; the apathy of the passionless. And as I watch the liftoff, impossibly the rocket pushes ever skyward.. and it shatters each and every one of those false ceilings.

Forever.

The square root of an elephant is a radical elephant.

And if any of you non geeks out there don't get it, the square root symbol is also called the radical symbol.

I can relate . . . :D :
I back myself into the stall at the airport after a long, delayed and generally unpleasant flight. Ahhhhhh. The output is a 3-lumper, preceded and punctuated by serious gas. We are talking 6-8 second bursts here. Pressure is such that we are getting a good C-sharp note from my sfinkter. :ohyeah:
In the middle of this, some dude makes a desperate effort to set hisself up in the adjoining cublicle. "Bwoot.. Splash. Bwoootwoot-splash frrrt."

Silence.
At this point, my fumes, outlawed under the Geneva Convention, have crept under the divider.

More silence.
About ten seconds later, we get, "Awwww FUCK YOU !!! from the adjoining stall. Frantic sounds of hoisting of trou and stomping on the flush lever.
Stall door slams. ""Motherfucker." accompanied to the sound of departing feet.

I laffed til my sides hurt.
