Picked up a new cooling fan at the dealer today, verified the part number he handed me was correct according to my research. Guess what, it doesnt fit. The old fan's blades are set forward of the rear plane of the fan hub by 10 or 12 mm. The new fan's blades are flush with rear plane of the fan hub and hit the crank pulley when installed.

Anyone ever run into this one before?

Anyone have a double secret part number for a new fan that will work?

ps: cross posted on the tech board also.

Remounted the fan on the front side of the fan clutch. Needed a very thin walled 10mm socket to tighten the mounting bolts, but other than that no problems.
