I don't have a working car to look at and i've tried looking on the ETK but i can't tell how the plenum is secured to the engine, is there supposed to be a support bracket ?

I can't see any obvious fixings on the bottom of the plenum for a bracket ?

Does any one know if the E28 M5 ITB rubber boots can be replaced with the plastic boots from the E34 ?

There aren't any solid supports on the e28 M5 intake plenum, it's supported by the six manifold boots.

Don't know about the e34, but I understand that the throttle bodies are larger so the boots may be also.
