Chris, are you going after Eric's record this year? The trifecta of Western events: 5erWest, Beers, Brats, & BMW's, and this one.wkohler wrote:I'd like to try to make this, but it's too early to tell.
Seriously though, it sounds like a blast but too close to 5erWest for me (not to mention a whole other 2 day road trip).
Good luck with the event and hope you get a big turn-out. There really needs to be a signature event for the Mountain/Southwest region; yours looks like it's it.
I'll have to check the exact distance and route, but I think I'll give it a shot. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it to San Diego for St. Patty's Day due to a variety of reasons, most of which the car wasn't yet in shape to make the trip, but I've got this on the calendar and won't have any excuses to miss this one!
Take the 10 to the 17 to Flag, then 89 to the 160 turnoff for Tuba City. Continue to Follow 160. It's about 520 miles for me, so figure on 680-700 for you.528elover wrote:I'll have to check the exact distance and route, but I think I'll give it a shot. Rumor has it, There could be a group drive to the small Gambling town of Ignacio for lunch...

Looks like we are on the calendar after all. 1,000 miles +/- depending on the route.

A small update:
I talked with a representative from the BMW Club, and found out that they will be willing to help us advertise. I guess the talk at their monthly board meeting stirred a lot of interest in the board members. They are willing to help us advertise in the local Motor Sport Report, along with flyers at the Sonic Burger meets and the Concours D'Elegance.
After talking to BMW CCA Rocky Mountain Chapter, it sounds like 30-40 cars will be obtainable.
Please keep telling your friends, and let me know if you have any questions.
Hoping we can get those on the fence to realize that their presence will make this event that much better!
not to mention it really is a nice drive up there, and this would be a great weekend getaway before the end of summer.

My vote is for the E28.thekaiser82 wrote:I am going to try my best to make it. I am a maybe for now, but hopefully that transitions to a yes. I really have no excuse since I am here in Colorado. Anybody have a preference if I bring my E28 M5 or E39 M5? I enjoy driving them both, so it doesn't much matter to me.
