- should have the S50/52 tensioner in hand tomorrow, and in car by Sunday PM (Thanks Jim).
The rest;
- get that ant-lock brake light to go out and get the tape off my cluster, probably the bomb
- swap in 3:46
- solve front end creak issue
- oil change, etc...
Oh yeah, current state inspection sticker.
- tensioner, done.
Thanks to Jim for the part and Luis for the labor.
Why was it leaking? #31 was only finger tight.
- front end creak issue
Left Moosehead UCAB needed lubing.

Mandatory:
1. Replace in tank pump gaskets including the sending unit's gasket.
2. Change oil.
3. Replace left headlight.
4. Serious wash.
Optional:
1. Paint grilles trim black.
2. Glue driver's side b-pillar trim.
My list is totally reasonable. What's your list?
My list not long ago was longer than my arm to wrap up the miscellaneous stuff on the S54 swap, but the list has been taking care of and I should be ready for the road next week.
As you mentioned, I too am exited to hit the road and a week seems a long time!
My wife and I will be there. Will be driving Al. Michelle thinks we should take her 524td. It will be nice to meet the people on the board. Right now the only person going that we know is Adam who BTW is a great guy. I am always pleased with the caliber of people we meet at these events. In all my years of car clubs I have only had trouble once and that was with a 2002 guy in FL who wouldn't pay me for the parts I sent him. He wasn't at Vintage last year. If I see him this year I will be sure to say hi! Any dirt or gravel roads I will just have to go around. I am just to low to leave the pavement.
The only dirt roads we might encounter would come from 1) VA DOT lying on its website about road conditions 2) detours or 3) getting lost somewhere in SW WV. (It bears noting that getting lost in SW WV is the natural order things. Those who have been through that area know of what I speak.)
The suggested route, and it is just that, suggested, is entirely paved. Glad to start seeing people in just a week.
It is with much regret, that I have to say that the 3 generations of Nelsons that were scheduled to descend upon the Vintage and RTT have been grounded. Due to a number of factors, one being my wife's horse decided to fall on her, we will have to regroup start the planning for next year early. I am really bummed about missing this. Noah and I had a blast last year and had been looking forward to it especially with Grandpa in tow this year. But alas, it was not meant to be. Say Hi to the WV State Patrol for us.

You will be missed. More importantly how's your wife?
She's doing OK. She had three screws put into her tibular plateau, I believe. He landed on her right leg and bent the knee joint sideways and fractured the top of the lower bone. Her arm was literally black from wrist to shoulder which makes getting around on a walker interesting. I tweaked the walker for her with custom pouches for carrying and a set of Bilstein Sports are on order for that perfect ride. Could have been way worse. Actually feel lucky, as the call could have been much worse than the one I did get, which was scary enough. As it stands, she is off her feet for 6 - 10 weeks and should make a full recovery. Have a cold one or twelve for me, this was not how I envisioned spending this weekend, but as I said before, we were still lucky.

Dang horses. My wife fell from a horse back in February. She was riding in an arena and when she fell, she fell on the railing. Got a plate and 14 screws and going through PT now. We feel so blessed that it wasn't any worse than that.
My wife and i will add you to our prayer list. You never know what kind of blessings will come from something like this so just enjoy the time together!
Well gentlemen, regretfully I will not be Rolling The Twisties this year. My 'lack of employment-income' makes participation untenable. My wife and I will arrive Friday at The Vintage but return home on Sunday as you find your way westward to Bristol, TN.
