Bummer Matt........see you at Vintage!Mab1957 wrote:Well gentlemen, regretfully I will not be Rolling The Twisties this year. My 'lack of employment-income' makes participation untenable. My wife and I will arrive Friday at The Vintage but return home on Sunday as you find your way westward to Bristol, TN.
I will follow the postings with keen interest.

Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers offered our way. This group is amazing and I will miss not getting to know more of you again this year. But we will follow along via this board so please post away with updates on fun and shenanigans, so I can live vicariously now, and look forward to getting together in person in the future. I am hoping we can make the four corners meet in August. Have fun y'all.
Ohhhh Yeaaahhh!!! Put down about 800 miles in just over 12 hrs.KatoM5 wrote:Are you drivin' the M5? Hope the trip is going well so far.1st 5er wrote:Newnan, GA for the night.
We did/do have a particular place to go, but... this is the way it's been.

I'm home safe. I can't begin to describe the phenomenal memories that I created this weekend, both with the people and the images captured through the lens. I'm importing the pictures as we speak so there may be a preview of a few later tonight, but no promises.
I'll also do a full write up with my photos similar to what I did for 5erFest last year...

Rodney,
Glad to hear you had a good time, even more glad to hear you made it back home safely.
You missed our pooled greyhound bet at late dinner. It hit. Steaks and prime rib all around. $.99 Yeungling pint cans didn't hurt either.
Needless to say, this RTT has been pretty damn epic. Good times roll on tomorrow with a 160 mile/5 hr. 5 min. run to Snowshoe Mountain.
More to come later. Hope the gamblers don't stay out too late. If they do, its on them.

Just an awesome time had so far.
RTT '12 is at its final destination with one more day to go. Twelve people made it to Snowshoe Mountain in eight vehicles (7 e28s, including 3 M5s and an S54 beast) along with 1 bike. Not a bad showing. Highest car count was at least 15 on day one.
All I gotta say is that you do not know until you go.
Off to bed, its an early night. Tired after 5 hours of twisties, an excellent dinner, a few libations, a soak in hot tub, a few more libations, and some sparkling, generally automotive conversation. Rough life, I know. How was your, what day is it, Tuesday?

Tsk tsk, it was NINE vehicles. 7 e28s, one M4 coupe, and the beemer.
I just got out of the sticks after 100 miles of twisties to get out of west virginny. Waffle house, gas, and a small jaunt on I-64 (why are there so many cars?), then another hundred miles of my favorite twisties until home.
Will update and post photos then.

My bad. Totally forgot the other S54 car. Apologies to Hunter, who is still in bed, sharing the bunkroom with Alijonny.ldsbeaker wrote:Tsk tsk, it was NINE vehicles. 7 e28s, one M4 coupe, and the beemer.
Adam, glad to hear you made it safely through WV twisties. Have a safe rest of the journey home. It was a real pleasure to have Thor and his hammer join RTT '12.
