Thanks Duke. The spinning tire thing is fun and pretty predictable. It does satisfy my need for power and makes me grin....... and shes only 2 years newer than my super eta, kinda period correct.

I changed the oil in the E90, really let it go further than normal this time and didn't realize how much I've been driving. Also topped off the tire pressure. I still don't like the jack points (or lack thereof) on that car. Not shade-tree mechanic friendly. And I also realized I don't need rear brakes yet according to the car. The next thing is an inspection. Will be doing that myself.

The ZHP got an oil and filter change, new air filter, new Front CABs, and new juice in the LSD. I'm doing 20K per year in that car now, and it loves eating up the miles. Really a fabulous DD, and just old enough to still DIY heavily.

Lets see, yesterday I did an oil change on the E39 and found it's leaky pan gasket didn't stop leaking.

Replaced the belt tensioner pulleys so one doesn't go flying off like it did on the E39 last year, did plugs

Found out why the POSW has been making a rubbing noise in the ass end when we put four people in it. Felt fender liners have warped from age and now touch the rear passenger tire when the car is settled down at a stop light or just parked

. Time to trim that with a razor knife.

Got the transmission tail cone back on with new seal on Chuckie, the 88 Chevy Silverado, as well as the driveshaft with new u-joints. Should hopefully seal that pesky 700R4 leak once and for all. Even JB welded the superfluous weep hole in the yoke so that won't be an issue. Next is to tackle the steering column turn signal switch. What a bastard that will be.

Putting a couple of Hondas up for sale on CL right now. Anybody interested? Package deal, two-for-one!

Also changed the oil in the e32 back to warm-weather weight over the weekend. It's not terribly warm yet, but I was getting nervous with the thinner oil in it. Seems much happier, except for the rear end; blew out another rear shock mount.

Need to make time to measure the shock rod diameter so I can get some Moosehead Engineering bomb-proof mounts ordered. I also figured out that the left side tie rod is shot; ever since I put the summer wheels on the car, it's been pulling to the left something fierce. Guess that explains it.

Rear calipers on the Rover aren't operating properly. Pulled the rear wheel off and checked the piston operation. Smooth-as-butttah.

Now I'm guessing it's the hose(s) breaking down internally and creating a one way check valve.....

I miss driving this thing.

Got the ix together today. Drove it about 5 miles. No more bearing noise!! Woohoo!

Then brought it back to the garage and eased the rear "totalling" dent out. Eased it out so well that the taillight bolts lined right up with the holes. I'm not sure if it's weatherproof, but it is much prettier, and the taillight really makes the car look whole again.
Now plastic bumpers, and registering!

Chased all over town trying to find a matching tire to replace the one that my daughter tore up yesterday; she pulled a U-turn in front of the house like she always does, but this time she clipped the curb next to the neighbor's driveway, pinching the sidewall between the curb and wheel. That tire is trash. And there's not a single Kuhmo Ecsta ASX 205/60-R15 to be found locally. But...

CraigsList to the rescue. Some guy has a set of Style 32s with tires for sale. Talked him down to $250 for the set over the phone (and may still get him to go a little lower) but he's out of town until the weekend, so to keep Emily from having to drive any distance on the donut, it was musical tires time...

The e34 that I picked up a couple months ago came with a set of nearly new Michelin snow tires on Style 2s. Those tires are the same size needed for the e36, so they will be swapped over to the wheels that came on the e36, and Emily will drive on them until we pick up the Style 32s. Thankfully I didn't get rid of the ratty old junkyard Pirellis on Style 2s, so that's what's on the e34 until it meets its final destination...

I was a little disappointed that the e36 Compact isn't designed to accomodate a full-size spare. And the arrangement for dropping the underside-mounted donut is as strange as I've ever seen.

Let's see. On my SAAB 99, I put back in the engine, cooling system, axles, brakes, steering rack, steering column, locks, fuel pump, driver's side regulator, glass, seals and trim, hood, shifter, parking brake cables, wheels and bumpers.

I had it completely disassembled to restore, but decided to sell. I'm trailering it to its new home tomorrow.

Time to pick up another BMW!

Pulled the head on the '89 525i I picked up last week. Took it to the machinist's for a pressure test.

Once I hear back from him I'll order the parts I need to put it back together. Water pump, timing belt, tensioner, etc.

I think I will pull the rear suspension off the rear quarter of an e21 I have in the garage (we cut that car up with reciprocating saws). I need to get my other e21 running. Manual transmission swap and baselining is up next for that car. It has been sitting for about 5 years.

had the glass installed on the new hardtop for my Z3, Just installed my Wilbers Shocks onto my R1100GS. WHAT A DIFFERENCE...

Oh also, I cut out more rust from my 65 Beetle project, installed the new floors, tacked in the new driver side heater channel, scratched my nuts, cut my hands, got some blisters, got depressed, drank coffee, got motivated, got distracted, then went home.

you ever get that funny feeling inside that you will never get back what you put into a certain project? I hope I'm wrong, and I am enjoying myself...Fukingprojekts

Painted and replaced the driver side kidney ring that decided to try greener pastures a while back. also snapped in the front plate filler, cleaning up the front bumper a lot.
Other than that, not much. It's going in next week for some cooling system/misc oil leak work.

Another new windshield in the E430, (3rd this year) damn thing is a rock magnet & a plastic 5 gallon bucket magnet, a bird magnet, friggen unbelievable, you name it and it has likely hit the front of that car, or the windshield or the mirror, never been involved with anything like it before. I'm betting space junk will fall and hit the damn thing. The other day Rhonda called told me a Cardinal was banging on two of the windows, the hell is up with that?

Repaired the horn on the E30 that kept going off at random times. Yard parts FTW!
Final straw to get me to care was when I was sitting behind a car full of gang-bangers leaving a store and the horn started going off. I tried turning the wheel violently because I knew the contacts were meeting due to brittle, cracked plastic inside the column. No dice. Just looked like I was in a really big hurry or something. The guys in front were seriously agitated and I'm just sitting behind them pointing wildly with both hands at my steering wheel. They must have thought that I had to pee because they smiled and sped off.

I took six loads of E12 crap to storage today in the touring. They closed at 3, so I will have to take what's in the car tomorrow. Hopefully I have time. Then I spent some time looking at the car wondering what the hell I'm thinking. I have no place to do what needs to be done and can't afford to rectify that.

I finished installing the Dual radio in the Ranger. I had to figure out the wiring for the speakers. Turns out, the no AC, manual windows, 5 spd, had a Premium sound system and the reason I couldn't get continuity was I was working from the speakers toward the outputs of a dead amp. By the time I figured this out , I was swatting more mosquitoes than working.
This morning , I took out the amp and the 4 feet of associated harness , and there was the right plug for the speaker wires,. What little conflicting and confusing info I had gleaned from TRS , had the right diagram and I verified the left side wires by continuity. I stripped and crimped on butt connectors for everything and viola! all 4 speakers were working ! Before I could put the radio in , I had to replace the the dash cover. It had suffered from plastic fatigue and ham fisted PO's . The challenged upper right socket was held to with a piece of CO waxed lacing cord. The missing clip nut was dealt with by using a J nut as a toggle Still a little tattered, but my bodging was better than the silver duct tape it came with . I put the door spkr back in after and wiped down the dusty, and pollen filled vapor barrier. I had managed to take the door panel off without destroying it. I had spent some time Saturday figuring that out. The door is a manual. The only wires going into it are for the spkr. The window regulator was fine, so I dint do anything to it.

X3 - oil housing gasket, oil and filter change, and MAJOR cleaning underneath the truck. That gasket was leaking for a LOOOOONG time.
