The track isn't the problem. We should meet there as soon as I have a car runnign good enough to go.

Misdiagnosis on my part. Blew the headgasket and broke a piston in the same event. Didn't know the piston was damaged. Replaced everything else. Put it back together. No compression in #6. Still drove it to 5erFest and back. Still did a massive NHRA burnout with the 5 cylinders. :D

What kind of piston and where did it fail? Stock mahle and failed at the ring land? Any idea what blew it all up, detonation?

It's the failures that teach us the most, y'know. By the way, I'm not cranky anymore. I went out and wrenched on my engine for a few hours and did some engineering. Feel muuuuch better! (@)

I have yet to yank it yet, but I suspect it's the ring gland. I have massive blow by. That motor lead a hard life with much testing, detonation and over boosting. It held up until the boost got higher than 20psi.

Xenia, OH, hmmm? I once had some fun in a car there. Wasn't at a dragstrip though. Wasn't even in the driver's seat.

Sometimes I miss that old cabrio.

I would go to the strip except for the fact that... I'm in Boone and there isn't a good 1/4 mile drag strip for hundreds of miles.
