I REALLY need to reinstall my oil pan to protect my bottom end, but do I need to modify it off of the car before reinstalling? I'm talking about oil return line, etc. I really don't wanna have to R&R this thing twice if not necessary...

Todd, Sweeney or one of the TCD owners can say for sure, but they should be using the existing boss in the block. It still needs to be drilled and tapped. If I remember right, they do it without dropping the pan, just change the oil when you are done. I drilled and tapped mine (different turbo kit) with the pan on, but had to remove tha pan later anyway. There was still alot of metal junk left over, but the filter should take care of it...

Hey Kyle,

Yes you do. Sweeney please post a picture or description of location if possible. I am traveling and cannot post a pic.

Todd.. Is there anything else other than what you are asking sweeny to post about, that needs to be drilled/tapped for your kit? Engine/head/oil pan... anywhere.. I'd like to go ahead and get all of that done as i'm rebuilding my motor so that its ready for the kit. I'll just plug them until i get to the point where I'm ready to install the kit..

Unless TCD enterprises changed their minds about proper location, the hole goes right about there . . .

I thought they used the 745i boss at the bottom of the block. It's where I have the white circle. From there you have a near verticle drop from the turbo oil return.

A lot of people quiver when you mention "drilling into the block". Either location works though it is easier to run the drain hose to the pan as in Jeremy's picture.
With the pan removed you can see the baffle. Drill the hole just above the baffle.
Another option which I'll be performing on my B35/S38 throttled/Ross pistoned/Turbo Bastard engine is to weld an aluminum fitting to the pan to accept the drain hose.

1/2" NPT for the drain. The oil filter housing gets a 1/8"NPT fo rthe oil feed to the turbo. I'll try to dig up some pictures when I get home tonight.
