I have a friend that has a 2002tii that has a rebuilt engine what he wants is a intercooler...I took pics of the car this weekend

I hope ya guys like the car he says that it is one of 3 in the country...the other 2 are in california...I dont know how true it is but I like the car regardless...The color is a little to extreme for some but I like it

If anyone knows of a intercooler system that can be used or customized for this application please let me know...

Thanks

Is it hypocritical that I think it looks great when the same colors on a Honda would induce vomiting? It would look better in white instead of the yellow, imho.

I'm no expert but where there's money, there's a way. It looks like there is a lot of empty space behind that grill. IC's can be found in a multitude of sizes, shapes, and configurations. Which one is right for the application? i'll leave that to the experts.

rundatrack,

Sure hate to burst your buddie's bubble, but there are more than 3 genuine '02 turbos in the US. In fact right here in Houston, Matt Groner, owner of Matthew's Auto Sales, (the former owner of Skeen's ALPINA '02 Racecar) has a pristine example of the '02 Turbo in original colors in his collection. IIRC, in the Roundel several months ago, there was mention of a Vintage BMW gathering at some winery on the East Coast where one for certain, and possibly a second '02 Turbo were brought by their owners.

It doesnt bother me a bit...he is a nice guy I think he just doesnt know...he wasnt saying it like "There are only 3 in the country hahahaha"...it was more like "It is a rare car I think that there are only 3 in the country...."....

But I hope ya know anyway for him to get a intercooler or have a vendor you would suggest...?

that car is so damn hot. i love the widebody. this is the reason i would love a 2002 to be my next project car.......drop an m30b35 motor in and a tcd turbo kit! cage it out and tubs, run that bitch at the track all day long! as for the intercooler, there looks to be enough space to fit one of AA's stage1 inbtercooler's behind the grill and just plumb it in. if you are located in NY, call ICS, they are close, they do great work and are always up for a hot little project.

Spotted at last year's Bavarian Auto Show n Shine. I too have heard rumors of another here in the northeast. Provided that this one NY is the second, that makes for a rough estimate of about 2 in the NE, 2 in Cali, and 1 in Tx. It's probably safe to say there's less than 10 in the country, certainly exclusive territory.

Sorry I can't help with the intercooler, but that is definitely a sweet car, and an awesome piece of BMW Motorsport history. I do have to admit that I like it better in white though. :)

I've never seen 'em with black but I think it would be awesome, say on a Euro. M535tii maybe.
